Games like Destiny 2?
What are the top games similar to D2? Both graphically and gameplay wise that is...
Am a little burned out and need something to scratch that Destiny itch.

The Borderlands series has similar gameplay.

Alas there is nothing much like Destiny 2 in the industry. There are similar games, but each of them lacks something or they are very different. Warframe, Borderlands, Outriders come to mind. If you move away from the shooter/action genre, any MMORPG to your liking will do.

Warframe maybe

maybe...

Yeah see I really love the gunplay in D2 and there isn't anything that rivals it, really annoying tbh. If one game could match it I'd be all over it. All these "destiny killer" games fall short because of THIS very reason.

Just need a game that is similar.

Division 2 offers the same Sponges instead of difficulty and also a lot of Ubisoft Microtransactions. You will feel at home.

Borderlands and Warframe were really good choices up there. Take a look at Deep Rock Galactic too. Everything is randomized like in Warframe. This guarantees your mission is unique every time. Mission Map RNG keeps a lot of things fresh.

Borderlands probably has the most similar gunplay out of the ones you listed but I've played all of them, they're alright. Deep rock galactic is probably my fave of them, though I find myself burning out on that game a lot too as there isn't a whole lot to do.

I'm really looking for that Halo-esque gunplay that D2 has, with a similar looter experience...

I'm kinda sad that only Destiny seems to be able to do it this well and I can't believe the state the game is in right now.

i feel you... hope you are finding the thing you are looking for!

Depends on if you want multiplayer or no? There's Warframe which is 3rd person but I'd say it's slightly similar. Deep rock galactic, all the Halo games obviously.. Shadow Warrior is fun, Overwatch maybe?? Vermintide, Deathloop, gunfire reborn, Apex, titanfall, borderlands (somewhat) team fortress (lol) Outriders (another 3rd person) Risk of Rain has some pretty good fluid gameplay mechanics, and then single player games there's a few but I think Destiny just has it's specific, unique feel

I know it's on the fence but Darktide has good 1st person mechanics. But you either love or hate that game

I have been trying to find another game that has the shooting and movement down pat like Destiny but have not found one. All the ones named are not even close. I have spent lots of money buying all those games and now I don't play them, keep coming back to Destiny. Crazy how no other game can have the same great shooting and moving mechanics. 2023 and not 1 match lol

Looter Shooter Games:
First Person
-Borderlands 1,2,3, Prequel, Wonderland
-Destiny2
-MW2 Warzone, semi randomized but PVP only.
-Dying Light 2 - up to 4 player co-op, all gear is randomized.
-Deep Rock Galactic - randomized levels, but you dont "keep" gear.
-Gunfire Reborn -
-Star Citizen - worth a look if you like guns
-Fallout 76 - not saying I like it but stuff is pretty random sometimes
-Darktide - not sure how random guns are but its a shooter thing
-Starsiege: Deadzone - this just came out, procedural generated spaceship extraction shooter with PVP
-Shatterline - I didnt like this one but it was about an hour or more per match, YMMV.
-Star Wars Battlefront 2 - This is sort of just Battlefield in space, but in Star Wars. No PVE mode that I remember.
-Apex: Legends - sort of randomzied loot but still just a parkour Battle Royale.

3rd Person:
-Warframe - F2P semi-parkour style, very grindy
-Divsion2 - PVE / PVP, very grindy
-Outriders - end game has some random generated maps, mostly dead game but you can play solo, don't count on finding groups /players.
-Remnant: from the Ashes / Remnant 2 - souls-lite, with random generated maps
-Risk of Rain 2 - also a rogue-lite, different every time, max 30 minutes
-Crab Champions
-Returnal - sorta of a single player roguelite
-Everspace 2 - not a FPS but still has randomized roguelite elements.
-GTA5 - not neccessarily randomized but man there is alot to do for the price, helps if you have friends to play with.
-Ghost Reacon Wildlands / Ghost Reacon Breakpoint - both PVE but big maps and lots of things to do
-Mass Effect Series - does have randomzied loot and I think the latest one has a sort of PVE mission mode but its pretty far from "Destiny"

One thing I want you to realize is that the looter-shooter genre was inspired by Diablo (action RPG w/randomized loot and semi randomized areas) that then inspired Borderlands which then inspired Destiny 2. There aren't very few companies that are willing to try and make a live service game looter shooter where you are constantly adding new content and trying to balance that while not having a monthly subscription - it is unique and hard to maintain because developing games is costly.

I google-searched - "roguelite FPS" and "Looter Shooter FPS"
The main problem with Borderlands is that, outside of the first game exactly (and Tales, for different reasons) the games all forgot that the first thing weapons should be is USABLE, since they go for wacky stuff first and then function after; Destiny 2's guns are all guns first, THEN something else that might be wacky...jokes about it aside, even Telesto at least works like a gun first before the fun bits.

I dont think you know what a looter shooter actually is. DRG, MW2, darktide, battlefront, apex legends. None of those are looter shooters.

You also do keep gear in Deep rock galactic.
Warframe is the best choice if you're looking for something familiar but still not the same(grind is on the same level too).
