RECOMMENDED power level 1830 & lost sectors
Hi,

Can someone explain this to me? To reach "RECOMMENDED" power levels for legend lost sectors you're supposed to:

1. reach the pinnacle cap of 1810 AND
2. Grind your season track to over 200, so the artifact power is +20

Which you have to do every f***g season to for example do legend lost sectors at "recommended" power.

As far as I remember, previously legend was around "pinnacle level", so you could actually get there easily with only light grind ("powerful cap" + artifact), and have a nice solo activity with a good chance of exotic drops. And the master version was around the current legend "recommendation".

Do "master" lost sectors still exist? And if yes, what "recommended" PL to they have? 1900?

I'm not spending a Cent on this crap anymore. That's enough. If Bungee wants to filter the player base to leave only the "elite", that's my way of saying thanks!

Cheers!

Pretty sure this was the general idea:

1) Get people in early, see them suffer
2) Let people feel they could make steps forward so they go watch "a streamer" for an optimal loadout (yay free views with minimal work )
3) Use optimal loadout (this season: "suspend and volatile" mostly.

Why I dont care?
a) dont have any vault space
b) Warlocks got the short stick again with exotics, and too lazy to level my alts right now.

On the bright side, except for the Arcade boss arena part, the Lost sectors are imo really well designed, special mention for the cabal ship. They are probably my favorite for now, didnt really like WQ sectors aside the aesthetics, these are alright.

The weapon gear we got this season are powerful too, so there is that, it should offset several points in PL. Glaive shields didnt shine before, now they do, eg: Edge of Action Titan glaive is probably one of the best weapons now for endgame activities with little cover zone.

Btw: I have run thru them at 1810 + meta gear, and still died a lot, so I am not suggesting they are ezmode.

It tells you the modifiers but nothing about power being capped or not.

With all the talk of Delta power level changes Bungie probably caused more confusion than if they just didn't add all that.

e.g.
Strikes are power level disabled
NF is 1770 but caps at 1765
GM NF is 1840 and capped at 1815

TWAB 27th Feb 2023 had the following, which is also probably where people thought it effected LLS from:

Hero activity level is now soft cap + 20. Legend is Power cap + 30, and Master is Power cap + 40. Each has a scaling combat delta that keeps you under level in the activity and provides a smoother pathway to Grandmaster.

With all the Surge / Overcharged stuff they just generally limit what people can effectively use when they are still 5-25 levels under the recommenced difficulty.

I think bf next expansion major power level changes are coming to system .

Like no more power level and weapon infusing .

There will be account wide progression and xp progression will be the way to access content .

They've been wanting to get rid of power level for awhile but I reckon it's either too complicated to do or they're worried it would massively reduce playtime.

I think that Bungie have made a big mistake making it more difficult. They had a good recipe so it seems crazy to me to upset the apple cart. People do not like losing. Making it more difficult will just drive away the casual players.
Whether it by skill or hard work (levelling), everyone has to have a chance, or people will walk. The people who can not put in the time or perhaps don't have the skill will leave. And really, when you are running a business the last thing you want to do is drive away customers.

I must be on the same wave length as you. I just came here to inquire this same topic.

Would someone care to illuminate the concept on how you power level to a minimum of 1800? I find it confusing since YT videos and articles only show how to grind with DLC's. It seems feasible without DLC's, but could someone give me a basic run down on what I need to do?

All I know is to do quests for the three vendors at the tower 8 times, play gambit & crucible 3 times, and try to match gear with basic Vanguard Missions.

Are there other methods---without DLC---to this grind that don't require having to wait for weekly rolls?
This seems to be pretty comprehensive and lists what's free and what's not:

Has a lot of ads though, might need an ad blocker.

Thanks, this is by far the simplest description on how to power level as a F2P. Thank you!

I think anyone can manage 4-5 hours a week to play a video game and if not then getting power level in said video game should be the least of the worries.
No one is 1830 power already playing this game 4-5 hours a week, stop lying to people. The people that are already 1830 power are the people hardcore into this game and they played more than five hours on the first day this expansion launched, talking about five hours a week, please.

I already farm legendary lost sectors and I'm 1814. if you have the right mods and the correct damage types to pop shields, you're good to go if you're careful and methodic.
And I'm not a top tier sweaty player

I think the correct complaint is that the recommended 1830 level is deceptive since your power is capped at 1815. I think that Bungie should've implemented the UI is to show the recommend level to be 1815, but then indicate that enemies will be scaled to 1830.

This kind of stuff is actually a good example of what UI designers do in game development.

Kind of part of the problem, they changed the difficulty, which effectively changed how long it takes to clear a Legend Lost but they didn't change anything else. So now it takes longer, you're not guaranteed a drop, I once had to farm Lost Sector for 20 runs to get a drop I wanted. There's no way in hell I would bother doing that now. They didn't enhance drop chances or even better just let you pick. So it takes longer, is more tedious and annoying to do and you still have that same crap odds that you get what you want.

It caps at 1815 for Legend, you don't need to be 1830, no one is 1830 yet and everything is capped now, so yeah there is no point in grinding light levels anymore, you can do the raid at 1780 you know.

Get outbreak perfected, a scout with the correct surge and taipan, I solo flawless all of them like that and I'm 1817, if you want easy mode either play well warlock or void hunter.

Once again, it doesn't cap. Here again:
This is literally from the Bungee website:
"Lost Sectors feature +20 combat delta (rather than -15 or -20)"
Which, if they're keeping their terminology consistent would mean it caps at 1850???

I cant speak for anyone else on here but I am able to do the Legend lost sectors at 1810 Light level. master is recommended 1840 but i have been able to do those at 1810 as well.
Strand seems to really bridge the gap in Light level, at least for me.

Knowing how to play the game properly is what bridges the gap. Strand is easy because suspend is an answer to everything except overload healing, which can be solved with an SMG. A lot of the people complaining about difficulty are refusing to change their builds to counter the champions inside and are consequently getting absolutely smashed.

Being 1810 + 20 artifact is the same has being 1810 with +5 artifact. YOure capped at 1815 for Legend difficulty across the board
