The advantage of the Annual Pass is that you get all four seasons in addition to the basic version of the game.
The seasons are smaller content packages that are released every three months, they include a shorter story, an activity or set of activities, focused on that story, they have their own vendor/bounty giver whom you can build up rep with and get perks, and you also get the lower rewards track on the season pass (everyone gets the upper one, only season pass holders get the lower one). Seasonal content is transitory, but exists for an entire content year. If you own the Annual Pass, you have access to it for that entire year. Lightfall is year six, and runs until (give or take) March of 2024 (when The Final Shape is released).
So if you're going to buy the Annual Pass, this really is the best time to do it, as you get an entire with the content.
The deluxe version of the game also comes with the Dungeon pass as well.
Do i get 3 or (all)4 premium (lower season pass track) with the annual pass? I've read conflicting info about it. Some people say that the base version of lightfall contains the first premium season pass, the annual pass the remaining 3.
If its true, then i could postpone buying it until season 2 and see if i like lightfall enough to warrant spending another 50€ without losing much.
What deluxe edition are you talking about? I can't find one and looking it up gave a collectors edition with the same stuff as lightfall+annual pass plus some merchandise.
Is the dungeon pass the 30th anniversary dlc?
The standard edition of Lightfall includes whichever season is active at the time of purchase, the Annual Pass then gives access to the other three and the Year 6 Dungeon Key.
When people say Deluxe with regards to Lightfall they mean the Annual Pass. Bungie changed the name this time around presumably because Annual Pass is more reflective of it including all of that years content.
The Dungeon Key included with the Annual Pass unlocks two new dungeons releasing in seasons 21 and 23. The 40 th Anniversary Pack is something entirely different and unlocks the Grasp of Avarice Dungeon as well as provided access to slew of cosmetics themed around Bungie's previous games.
I guess they do it to sell more annual passes. Because it's 'cheaper' compared to buying everything separately and to justify 50€ for the annual pass, because the prem. season pass alone wouldn't do it.
Not a nice move but there aren't alot (or any real) alternatives to scratch the destiny gameplay itch.
Shadowkeep > Beyond light > probably witchqueen (maybe with a discount later on :P) > lightfall with most likely the annual pass.
This game is expensive
Thanks DakotaThrice
Sure it's expensive for players starting from scratch if they want to pick up all the content but you also have to consider that's five years worth of content all of which is still relevant.
For all of the available content on Steam you're currently looking at £168.76 which gives us around £35 a year which is less than the price of a single expansion but on top of the expansions you're also getting four seasons and five dungeons.
