SO....
I've been playing Destiny since the D1 beta... just went into a nightfall, which for some reason is the least liked seasonal activity from last season before lightfall dropped, instead of a strike..... The new difficulty changes Bungie has put into effect are absolutely ridiculous.... With a llight level 15 points above the recommended level for the mission, which was already a pain in the ass to start with, My entire team wiped no less than 20 times.... Every part of the mission was more aggravating and maddening than anything... Whoever the hell decided this would be a good idea deserves way more than a ♥♥♥♥ punch..... This was officially the worst experience I've ever had in Destiny. dont know if anyone else is having similar experiences, and I'm sure thee will be no shortage of trolls jumping into the comments talking about " skill issues" But this is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid... Honestly feeling like I wasted my money on this new expansion and season passes..... They decided as a company to completely change the feel of their game based on the opinions of an incredibly small percentage of their player base stating that the game was "too easy" For ♥♥♥♥'s sake.... I dont even want to play this ♥♥♥♥ anymore.

I agree. Upping the base difficulty of the game this much was a huge, huge mistake. The sweats aren't finding it any harder or more enjoyable at that level, and the newcomers (and even veterans like you and I) are finding it grindy and un-fun.

Being above the recommended power for Nightfalls won't do anything for you anymore, you will always be under Power, due to modifiers.

I just don't understand the change. There already was 'end game' content for the people that like a challenge. And changing the game to a generic time-wasting-chore-simulator isn't exactly challenging or rewarding. It's not fun, either.

Yeah the general consensus among the community is that the current nightfall is stupidly difficult.
This nightfall was very difficult last season (when it was the seasonal activity) and now with the difficulty changes its even more annoying.

Just gotta wait for some tuning i guess.

with all the ability upgrades (arc, solar and void 3.0) we became stronger over all so making the game harder was a good choise.
Tbh I dont know if they should change it or keep it as it is. On the one hand I feel like if i was a new player i would have a hard time doin most of the stuff this season. On the other hand i think if u cant do it yet come back later with better gear.

I understand both sides on this one but for me its more fun with more challenges.

i completely agree with you. especially the part that they have been guided by apparently a (small) part of the users, the so called whales. remarkable to mention here that within 1 day you already saw 1800 plus people hopping around.
the group is so small that no game can exist on them.
assumptions are not always the truth so.....

Don't say we didn't ask for it

Bungie stated in their manifesto that came out a little while ago, that they were and are happy with the "difficulty provided by Battlegrounds and thus choose to adopt this principle for other activities". Not the original quote, but the meaning of the manifesto section about "putting back the challenge into D2" is exactly that.

You all could have read that and figured out on your own that its a bad change, but you guys didn't and chose to rely on what streamers and Youtubers and Reddit tell you and Twitter and all the social media.

Now we are stuck with overtuned content, that won't ever go away, quite contrary, this will continue indefinitely, until nobody would play the game any more out of frustration. But that also won't happen.

Better get used to it, the time of easy flawlessing stuff is over. I've attempted the Vexcaliber mission on the normal difficulty and was able to flawless solo it on one single character, on the ever-so-cheesy kiddy Loreley solar titan. All the other characters are laughably weak due to tons of enemies swarming and refilling certain sections of the mission nearly instantly. Boss damage window is ridiculous too. Can't even imagine how this would play on higher difficulty.

What I'm getting at is that Bungie finally managed to raise the difficulty bar so high that it's becoming a real chore to just play without sweating it.

That's because the nightfall has a melee damage modifier on it for the enemies, as well as giving them more HP and making them harder to stagger. Put on 3 anti melee damage mods
(chest piece) and they can no longer one shot you from full hp. Not disagreeing with you, but that's your solution right now.
