And your friends probably have the game running on the press enter screen. Steam doesn't care if a games server is down, it counts the .exe and shows that as the playercount.

Yes, thank you, Ive seen the tweet. I currently have a friend at the tower, so I don't think he is just sitting at the main menu, which is why I made the thread.

notice how it says "background maintenance". downtime wasnt even supposed to happen to begin with.

notice how it says "background maintenance". downtime wasnt even supposed to happen to begin with.

Yeah, pretty crazy there was supposed to be no downtime, yet the player count dipped from 160k to 70k in minutes. But looks like we're all waiting until they figure it out.
