Exotics question

I wish you could use more than one exotic weapon, lol. Would be so much more fun than being limited to one. OP be damned, game has a lot of sponges anyway.

But to the real question, I was thinking of using my forsaken ciphers for smth to just have fun with, but i wanna know what from the forsaken vault is actually good. Rn, I'm using Sunshot. Handcannons have always been my favorite type of gun in any game, and since D1. Sunshot is really fun to use, and it's goated at clearing ads, plus since I'm using Dawnblade warlock, it kind of just.. works. I was planning on getting Ticuu's to try it out and switch between that and sunshot.

Main question: Is Thorn good? Not just for dawnblade.

Sub question: If it isn't which forsaken exotic would be good? Not just for dawnblade, i'm up for trying other classes.

Always on Time is a good exotic to pick (if you have spoils to spare), but if you don't care about the sparrow, then I'd go for the recommended:

Ace of Spades
Le Monarque
Outbreak Perfected
Izanagi's Burden
The Last Word
Thorn
Anarchy (if you have spoils)
Jotunn

For Thorn specifically, it's pretty fun when paired with Necrotic Grips on Warlock (though Osteo Striga is better for that combination). Otherwise, it's about as effective on Warlock as it is on the other classes.

Out break perfected is a Red war item. The rest, I'll check out. Do you think Thorn is good, or is it just subpar when compared to most other exotics, or sun shot? Think I could get any use from it? I can try and get necrotic grips at some point too for a void poison build or smth.

Ace is good even without headshots since Momento Mori is basically 6x Kill Clip with no timer. I forgot Outbreak Perfected is in the Year 1 category for some reason; don't know why that is since it game out during Joker's Wild.

As far as where Thorn compares to others, it's hard for me to say. It's upper tier in PvP last I checked, but in PvE its utility is limited by champion mods or lack thereof. In addition, if you have access to Osteo Striga, then the latter works much better than Thorn for a Necrotic Grip build. Overall, Thorn isn't a must have (at least for PvE), but its still a fun weapon with the right loadout.

I have Le Monarque and Thorn, and I swap between the two depending on what I want to use in the other slot. Le Monarque with Void on a hunter + orb mods + devour + constant volatile rounds leads to entire groups of enemies getting wrecked the second I pickup an orb, which is almost instant. It feels fantastic. And on bosses, the DOT is a real nice companion with your crits.

Thorn on the other hand, Is fantastic in PvE if you have trash coming at you and a boss somewhere. You can basically do the same thing, kill two enemies quick for an orb, then start wrecking shop for more "souls", then turn on the boss and start unloading into the weak spot. It just starts ticking damage away, same as with Le Monarque. The second you start to feel like you are about to reload, pop another low-end enemy, grab/let the soul come to you, and repeat. In an average fight in PvE, the thing maybe reloads twice tops as long as you know when to shoot a weak enemy.

I'm gonna grab thorn because it looks badass af. I'm trying void warlock and honestly I feel a lot worse than I did with Solar. maybe i haven't gotten use to it yet lol.

I tried Ace and it just wasn't doing it for me, sadly, so oh well. As for Monarque, i might get it just because there's really nothing else on the forsaken vault that i really might want except bad juju and idk how good that is anymore.
