While plot arcs do ... occasionally ... make Ghosts vulnerable. Do bear in mind, they're not just floating there all defenseless. They are sources of, and protected by Paracausal power.
by what sources? there's lore of Ghosts being killed by cabal ( not powerless ones), the entirety of dark age was people crushing ghosts with bare arms etc.

By no accounts are ghosts tanky, the only reason Sundance was shot at is because the Baron was goofing around, the sorrow bullet was meant to kill Cayde - as that kind of bullet kills guardians irreversibly, Sundance shot was just a show off.

Truth is, Ghosts are fragile as ♥♥♥♥, hence why they don't get out too much.
At this point I've always figured that ghosts are about as strong as their Guardian's attunement to the Light, which is why the stronger Guardians needed a more nuanced excuse reason to lose their Light while some no-name Guardians will just drop like flies.

That or their ghosts are generally smart enough to avoid incoming crossfire, which would be a more valid reason.

Didn't Osiris use time travel shenanigans to bring Saint back via the Sundial? Saint originally died, because the Vex came up with a machine that could sever his connection to the light, which he destroyed before dying. I'm sure a little time manipulation could prevent that incident from happening and save not only Saint, but his ghost.
So, as I say - guardians are immortal. Except Cayde-6. He is the only one mortal guardian in the whole history.
Why you gotta diss Eris and Osiris like that?
Just put the ghost in your ass. Done. End.
There was a ghost killed in that quest to get the gjallahorn. It tells a full story of how a guy snapped and killed a guardians ghost.

No ones gonna kill a ghost in your ass before it has a chance to revive you.

Jedi, because they arent randomly killed by "The Architect" anytime anywhere.
Jedi are strong. But have Jedi ever killed gods ? Have Jedi ever forged a new path, and a new destiny inside an area in which the enemy has total control over time itself ? Have jedi ever slain a full on god and then wielded them as a weapon ? I love stars wars. I love the Jedi. But they would get mowed down by a Gaurdian. Just rewatch caydes final death scene. Even completley surrounded and outgunned he nearly won against all of them. The only thing that screwed him was a sniper hiding in the corner.
Depends on what jedi and what guardian for sure.

But if we were talking a perfectly average one of each, I'd give the edge to a guardian. The closest equivalent to Star Wars for a Guardian would be like a Mandalorian with super powers.

Also order 66 shows that Jedi do struggle with overwhelming amounts of pew pew, and guardians have pew pew to spare.
Guardians have magic bullets and armour that can tank actual reality-bending beams. Jedi are just spider-man but with a sword, and some magic that only is used if the story is forcing them to use it.

Because Osiris could bring back Cayde-6, but he didn't. Just because Cayde-6 is a "straight" guy.

That's not how that works at all. Osiris was only able to save Saint because he was trapped in a paradox within the Inifinite Forest. Cayde died in the Prison of Elders and his ghost was destroyed with a Devourer round no less. There was no amount of shenanigans that would've saved Cayde's dumb ass even if Osiris tried.

He could use time machine to prevent a whole Red War, but decided to save a one person. Stupid human.

The time machine only worked on Mercury due to the Infinite Forest. Sundial would have never worked on Earth due to the lack of Vex presence.

Let him make another time machine.
Jedi. They don't have to kill the Ghost, they just have to keep it away from the Guardian, so that it can't revive or heal them. Kill the Guardian, force yank the ghost into a jar/sack, bury it in wet cement.
Are we talking average red shirt Guardian vs average red shirt Jedi or Zevala vs Yoda? I would say the average Guardian would win 8/10 time against the average Jedi (a bunch of them died to battle droids) but Yoda would beat any guardian fairly quickly.
