My experience is general. Wether it be Vanguard, World or Gambit.
It is also a strand weapon (with catalyst).
If you are finished campaign 1770 + power and you are testing strand weapons, I don't think its strand weapons that are weak. I think all non bow weapons are pretty weak. With wish ender I can 1 shot most enemies. However I can pull out my quicksilver with strand catalyst and it takes half a magazine + the homing rockets to kill a basic trash enemy.
With the increased enemy HP, the fact its cabal with shields, or vex that like to hide weak points, it makes a lot of weapons in the game pretty crappy. I wont be using any SMG's with the nerf to resilience, I wont be using swords or glaives, i definitely wont be using auto rifles, scout rifles, and probably not sniper rifles, and no to shotguns too. Basically its Bows, grenade launchers, and rocket launchers. But, thats just my opinion. I want the highest damage per shot, and the fastest time to kill without sacrificing survivability. Bows do that for me. I play hunter, and they seem to have the best stuff for strand with infinite suspending of enemies. However they have no defenses, no way to heal, no barricades, no overshields, no healing rifts or wells, nothing.
Honestly after I get enough currency to buy all the fragments that unlock on 3/7 i'm swapping back to stasis. I don't need strand for anything. Strand offers nothing of real value and only makes the game unnecessarily more difficult. It was the worst part of campaign, as every time i was forced to use strand I was significantly weaker.
