How many Hours do you estimate itll take for me to be max light / geared?

hey people.
if i made a new account today, and started playing for hours on end. how long do you estimate itll take me to be maxed or near maxed?

- can you farm exotics? (i recall they were locked that you can only get X a week)
- is there a guide / walkthrough you can recommend to get maxed?

I dont know a good gouide off hand but power level has multiple caps.

Like ruight now 1570 is the soft cap. You can get there by just collecting gear. Just keep the highest item on you and will eventually get up there.

Next is the hard cap which right now is 1580. To get there you need powerful engrams which are earned by activities around the game. There are a limited number but tons of them.

Finally is pinacle cap, which right now is 1590. To get here you need pinacle engrams which also come from activities and are more limited than powerfuls.

From a new account to max light will take you some time the light level is going to get raised but if you're getting the dlc you should be able to play hard to get to the soft cap as for exotics you will need legendary shards and the armor can also be farmed from lost sectors once its unlocked you can get the armor peice in ramdom drops as for weapons you're either getting them from xur or from the monuments in the tower

In the end tho I would HIGHLY recommend to not rush to max. Spend time getting comfortable with the core game and getting better and better.

Yes you can farm exotics

Just do as much as you can that says powerful gear or pinnacle gear to get to max

It takes like 1-2 weeks if you do everything, but if you don't do a legendary campaign and the raid then it'll take a month or so.

I'd recommend that you don't worry about level right now, since the floor is going to be raised when the next expansion releases so the current power will be irrelevant.
