i want to improve
not botwalk against edz dregs
can bungie please remove sbmm, it benefits no one
When the first re-added SBMM to the game after it being gone for years for good reasons, they realized the very reasons they removed it in the first place were still a problem, namely that it came at the expense of connection and match quality in order to appease the bottom 5% of the playerbase at the expense of everybody else, and anything outside the lowest brackets had inexcusably long queue times because the majority of people suck at this game and any amount of actual skill being demonstrated would shoot you up in to the higher tiers and effectively lock you out from being able to play within any reasonable amount of time.
Now, they're trying to merge CBMM and SBMM in to a worse version of both, and are focusing on trying to just have "blowout" protection, so that connection is only impacted a little bit, queue times are made only a little bit longer for everybody, and the overall experience is as close to not having SBMM as they can get it.
After my 7 I was placed in Gold III which is the highest the game will allow you to be from placements alone. It's still piss ass easy, I'm still carrying my teams, but now the connection quality is absolute ass and queue times are five times what they were. I stopped bothering. Quickmatch 6v6 is the only good mode because at least there it's just pure chaos and nothing matters.
Well so far this season you have win rates of..
Control: 50%
Gambit: 47.1%
Clash: 33.3%
Survival: 55.6%
Iron Banner Zone control: 47.8%
Kinna looks to me as if sbmm has you pretty much spot on where you should be.
Well yes there is more to it than win/loss, your skill group and thus the matches you are placed in is determined by the variant of Elo system Bungie is using. The point I was making in response to his claim that sbmm was making the game too easy is that if over a season (which is pretty much over now) your win/loss rate is hovering around 50% then it would imply that the rating system is working as intended. Like you can see all the stats on Destinytracker, I may be misinterpreting the data but at a glance it would seem that his skill band is about right.
i would much rather play proper players and keep a ♥♥♥♥ kd instead of slowly improving my kd against the worst players
People hate SBMM because trying to force everybody in a 1:1 KDR 50% WR in every match that always runs out the timer instead of the objective being met early in a game about playing matches to earn rewards and progress a rep bar that goes up regardless of win or loss is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful and boring.
SBMM belongs in the ranked mode and literally nowhere else in this game.
