Escalation Protocol should come back
While the new Season of the Seraph events is fun, I mean I love killing hordes and hordes of enemies, but I think Escalation Protocol would have fit in with this season. Adding a crap ton more enemies per wave would have made Escalation Protocol in my opinion, the best activity for this season. It was so enjoyable for me that it was all I did when I got bored; for some reason, I never got bored of EP. Longest session of Escalation for me was 3 hours straight :D

If you do add back EP, don't add champions. What made EP fun even after Champions were introduced is that we were able to use what we want, whenever we want. Being confined to one loadout for champions in an activity like EP would not be fun.

Add EP as a 6 man matchmade activity and throw in more enemies to kill. It's what made battle grounds fun in Season of the Chosen and I am sure the same treatment will make EP a lot of fun should it come back. :D

Uhh.... You know Altar of Sorrow and the Blind Well are basically the same thing, right?

Honestly, I find the hostile environmental constraints of the Blind Well a little annoying (not to mention the visibility issues), but Altar of Sorrow definitely has the same feel as Escalation Protocol.

I am well aware.

Never really was a fan of Blind well either for the same reasons. Alters for some reason just don't have the same charm as EP did but I do enjoy it. I dunno. It would had fit in with Season of the Seraph in my opinion.
