FPS drops from 60 to 10 WHEN playing with a Controller
Greetings,
I downloaded Destiny 2 on PC and I wanted to play it with an XBOX One Controller. Either wired or via wireless.

The problem I face is not input-lag, it's FPS drop.
The moment I begin playing with a controller, the FPS drops to 10-15 BUT the moment I go back to Mouse/Keyboard, the game goes back to 60FPS.

My specs are waaay beyond the Recommended for this game, so I know my PC can eat this game for breakfast. I wanted to know if anyone has this problem and how to troubleshoot it.

Yes, it happens with any controller. Wether it's wired or wireless.
XBOX One, DualShock4, 8BitDo SN30Pro+ are the controllers I tried and own.

Yes, everything is updated and running dandy and smooth.

Are you using any third-party software like ds4 windows or 8bitdo xpad? They could be the culprit for the framedrops. Could also be if you connect the controller after launching the game. Then there's also play with/without steam big picture.

For DS4, I use DS4Windows.
For 8BitDo, I use their own Software.
For XBOX One controller, I simply let Windows take care of it.

If I can disable Steal Big Picture taking over the controller, I would appreciate it !

Enter big picture and untick controller supports to disable it. Could be worth testing launching Destiny within big picture however. Third party softwares like ds4 windows and 8bitdo xpad is/was a known issue in For Honor causing fps drops if they were running in the background.

You know what? Starting the game from Big Picture mode worked! But ONLY if the game is started from Big Picture , then it works fine.
If it's loaded without Big Picture , then it lags to oblivion. It's sooo weird... xwx;

I mean, I guess that's the solution? Big Picture mode into Starting the Game is a true combo.

I haven't played destiny 2 but I was using a controller to play shadow of the tomb raider, but framerate drops to 20 when i use the controller. If I switch to using keyboard, then its fine.
