I always interpreted him calling Osiris "partner" and "old friend" as a comrade in arms. Since they were both Vanguard leaders, it was way more obvious this way.
Yeah, I read about that just now as well. As someone who missed Year 2 and 3, the lore is all over the place.
I don't think it's really addressed, but assuming humanity's still humanity, even without the relevant bits it's still possible with the right items.

If you know the lore so well yourself then maybe consider answering my questions (or simply ignore them if you can't be bothered) instead of patronizing a curious new player who just started half-way through this expansion?
But the storyline, and event storylines? Give me a break.... I don't even know who half of the people in the tower are but I know this Cayde character got what he effing deserved!
Least favorite narrative transition since launch.
Exos kissing flesh faces makes zero sense. Exos have a voice box, no tongue, no lips, no warmth... etc... It would be like a human kissing the slot of a toaster... Super dumb.
