What Will Be After The "Light & Dark" Saga?
Will it be a new thing or will that be the end of destiny (being updated with new expansions etc)

Year Six: Lightfall
Year Seven: The Final Shape

After that, we don't know yet, Bungie hasn't announced what comes next. I'm sure they're working on something. Whether it'll be a new game entirely, or a new version of Destiny, or a continuation of "Destiny 2" remains to be seen. Bungie probably knows (or at least has a good idea) but they haven't told us yet.

After Lightfall begins the real battle. AT that point we will commence to the grave task of removing Taniks from the world.

I don't think destiny will be ponies and rainbows after The Final Shape , i suspect there will be more challanges..

Destiny 3 will prob be a time skip. It will prob drop the "Call of Doom" theme and move to more exploration and adventure. Implementing ship flight and combat, sparrow parts customization and actual home quarters that can be expanded.

*Exhales hopium hit

The new Marathon extraction game and Destiny mobile spinoff. I doubt Bungie will stick with Destiny 2, or Destiny as a whole. Their support for the game seems begrudging.

Edit: What's ironic is that they enthusiasticly created Destiny to allow themselves the creative freedom that Halo prevented.

Why would that be ironic?

You can be excited to start a new project, have lots of energy and enthusiasm going into it and still wind up tired and stressed 12 years later and want something new.

Except that attitude didn't begin 12 years later.
They already said that they will keep supporting Destiny after The final expansion. We don't know if this is more Destiny 2 content or a new Destiny game altogether.

Uh ... and?

Sometimes everything is great (exclamation point).

Until it's suddenly not (ellipse).

People (or groups, collectively) can sour on a project over time. Sometimes it happens gradually, sometimes suddenly.

I'm just not getting why you think it's ironic, it seems pretty normal to me. Sad perhaps, disappointing even, but still a normal thing that happens.

I've heard people speculate it could revolve around the Vex.

Because they were so excited to jump into it. They were so happy. Then they realized they couldn't swim. They got lazy quick. I'd laugh if it weren't such a pity.
