Came back after many years, so confusing
When Destiny 2 first came out, I joined like everyone else. I had a lot of fun but it came with many issues crashing and all sorts. I played for a few and then was unable to even launch the game. I quit.

Now that it's on steam and it's been along time. I logged in and I'm so confused. The old maps where I used to play are gone. I have no idea where to begin, how to get back and level up. This is by far the most confusing game I've ever come across. Does anyone know any Universities I can sign up to and get my Masters Degree in Destiny 2?

Those maps/planets are gone most likely. There was some technical stuff they said. I stopped playing due to that reason. I've wanted to come back to this game at least a couple times in the past year but I am salty. I'll leave it up to players that still support this game to help you get up to speed.

If what I paid for isn't available anymore I am not spending more money on stuff that will also be removed. When they compensate me for what was taken away, i.e. remake those planets and give for free, I'd probably "think" about coming back but since that most likely will not happen I'm gone for good. I just stop by every few months in the hopes that they give us back what was taken away.

And anyone that justifies a company removing something you paid for and not having some sort of compensation is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crazy in my book. You just like being robbed basically. They removed at least half the game some of us owned.

If you stick with it I say good luck and hope you enjoy it.

if you want to play threw the story chronology, you need all dlcs and you can check the timeline on the map.
if thats the case, go ahead and start the earliest available mission (some stuff got vaulted) and follow on.

if you only have the base game (basically a f2p player then), i guess theres not so much to do?

if you got the newest dlc (witch queen) you can play that story and all content with it to gear up.

levels are gone, only powerlevel is left.

Troll?

I didn't know it was removed. Why would they do that? Free version? There is nothing free about the price tag I paid for this game. How is it free? What I paid for is gone? That's really sad because I actually enjoyed the game in all it's confusion. The day a Destiny 2 like game comes out that's an MMORPG. We shall wait.

Thanks for the feedback. This free stuff and removal of maps makes me sad.

Not everyone, but all too many are. I paid too, but I'm not upset, I also didn't leave for years. The troll question was born of you having a grand total of 8.5 hours and the game has been on Steam since 2019, so it doesn't really look like it was all that important to you. You go on and wait, I will just enjoy this game, with all of it's faults, you may have a long wait.

How long have you been playing? You do realize it launched outside of steam right? I spent more than 8 hours playing the game. I spent days playing before it decided to stop loading. Then it switched to steam, tried it there and still had issues and gave up. Research and know what you're talking about. The gaming industry doesn't revolve around steam. Imagine World of Warcraft was available on steam. You'd probably dictate someones play time based on steam.

Grow up!

How long, I played it on BNet too, a pretty good amount and didn't have the problems you had, maybe it was a you problem? I only have 5,223 hours on Steam. The point was, you didn't touch the game on Steam for years, so it must not have been all that important to you. The year one content was free to play for over a year. I'm not the one who needs to grow up. If WoW was on Steam, I still wouldn't play it, don't care about it. And again, it's not about how long you did or didn't play on BNet, but by what you say, not that much, it's about the years you didn't touch it.

i tend to think of the removal of content like how time flows in the real world. e.g. how a stadium becomes a amusement park, how a old building that you grew up with got demolished and became a strip mall etc. if you're a new tourist u won't know the history of it, unless you read a book or ask a local. u will feel more unjust if u think u are paying (back when d2 was full priced) for the content that they remove, but actually you are just paying for the ticket to access the game at that time. kinda like tax - govt get to decide how to use your money. not that i like this kind of charging model but it is what it is.

starting a new character will help abit, because they start at 1350 power level, if your 6yrs old character is triple digit power level, no point grinding that character anymore. start a new one, go thru the tutorial and the basic mechanics on equip level, power level etc will be explained. as for the lore, u most probably have to go online or read about it in 'text' ingame.

What is your point here? I guess welcome to the block feature. Apparently, you accused me of being something you are doing now. TROLLING! Go be productive on another thread because you surely are not here. The problem has been solved and your feedback is not helping but completely out of bounds.

There should be no need of that, there are a few things from old that will have 0 light level, everything else will be at the floor which is 1350.

No, I asked a question, even my response to you after that I said not not everyone is a troll but too many are, that's not saying you are, I never said you are, I asked, I don't know you and the post looked questionable. When I explain why I asked and that you might have a long wait, you want to come at me with the "how long have you played" a lot more than you it looks like. But I only brought up time because you didn't touch the game for years.

Did you expect to be taken serious with "Does anyone know any Universities I can sign up to and get my Masters Degree in Destiny 2?"? So I asked "Troll?". It's not me that's out of bounds here, I have not called you names, or a liar, I asked a single word question and you took us here.

lol so just because someone didn't/couldn't play the game as much(wow so you had to go and specify the 5223, couldn't you have said 5k or 5.2k hours at least? Do you take pride in every second you play the game?) or for as long as you, it makes their opinion invalid?

He was right on the money actually, you are a resident troll who live under your bridge(d2 discussion forums) 24/7 and try to "deflect" every reasonable or unreasonable negative criticism surrounding the content vaulting with the same old miserable arguments.

I love Destiny 2 but the last thing it needs are more zealots like you which can't even stand seeing other people feel the way they feel just because it can tickle your billions of dollars worth small indie company that you put on a pedestal.

I guess you don't know what a troll is. Also, I guess you're one of those who just insults people if you have nothing, I'm no zealot, you just don't like when I counter people. I don't deflect anything, reasonable complaints I agree with. As to the vaulting, I just tell it how I see it, and you don't have an answer for it, non of use liked it. You obviously don't read what I post or you would know I don't put Bungie on any pedestal, I really like this game, I don't like them.

Yeah no.. I was only protecting the guy by stating facts after YOU insulted him. Don't get it twisted.

I said you talk against unreasonable posts as well so some of your responses are acceptable. I guess you don't know what unreasonable is.

I've had many answers for your points about vaulting in multiple posts before. Even put you in a situation where you had to accept it in one of them. Yet you act like none of that happened.

Of course I don't read every single one of your posts that you pump tens of daily, I neither have time nor patience to do that. If you actually don't like Bungie the way that you stated though, good on you. However this kind of approach affects the game negatively and the company behind it positively...

I didn't insult anyone.

Many people have many answers, that's not to say they're right. I've never said I liked vaulting and all I have ever done is explain to the best of my ability why I think it happened.

It's nice being retired and have a lot of time, I only tell it that way I see it, I don't need to like them to say what I think. Even people I don't like can do things I agree with or understand. What I say does NOT hurt the game, I have no idea how you think not trashing the game hurts it. I think this game is amazing, that's totally subjective, but it's how I feel about it. People whom unreasonably trash the game are the ones hurting it, they give the impression the game has more problems than it does, and it does have problems.
