Armour can't be traded in Destiny 2. You'd need to earn a gold shader and equip it to the armour you want it on.

What you could do is claim the Y1 Shader Box (correct me if I am wrong but it should be free for everyone) in the eververse store, should be in Archives or something. I believe Golden Trace is a mostly black but also Gold shader. Other than that I am not sure of any other gold substitutes.

If you keep an eye on the Eververse Store, during this season a new shader "Whispered Sheen" will be available for bright dust. That has a nice gold tint, as well as reds and browns.

Otherwise, some similar to gold or gold shaders are:

Garden of Salvation Raid:
- Ancient Believer
- Ancient Defender

King's Fall Raid:
- Ancient Wisdom

Beyond Light:
- Gilded Frost

Most others are no longer available. If you're willing to spend money, in the Archive section of the store there is also the "Victory over the Vault Bundle" for players that have beaten Vault of Glass. It contains Omnichronia, a shader that has a very nice colour combo. Not gold, but somewhat bronze-gold.
