And I am not from the USA but 25% is way way high for inflation each year.
You're looking at a maximum of $160 (USD) for al of the currently available content (Forsaken through to The Witch Queen) based on paying full price rather than waiting for a sale. That's 4 or 5 years worth of content of course it isn't going to be cheap.
Because the content isn't the same. Shadowkeep was the expansion and three season passes (the first season was bundled in with all versions of the expansion); Beyond Light was the expansion and four season passes; The Witch Queen was the expansion, four season passes and two dungeons. Lightfall includes everything The Witch Queen did as well as seasonal cosmetic/currency bundles.
Did you really believe that he understands common economy rules?
The Witch Queen Deluxe was for $80 and you can buy 30th Anniversary Bundle for $30 separately for extra dungeon.
Or
The Witch Queen Deluxe + 30th Anniversary Bundle comes with 2 dungeons for $99.99 which was a lower cost if you bought them together and now for Lightfall only have one dungeon.
But now if you look at the standard edition it cost only $50 and each season $10 = $90
Something is wrong here, if you bought the whole deal it should cost less regardless of the preorder ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bonus.
No this is not about inflation related to each year, its oportunism, if the company feels that the consumer will blindly pay more each year, than yes they will joyfully jackup the prices and when someone confronts with the inconvinient question "its inflation".
If using the "logic" its more because of inflation than by now the games would be costing way above $100 as base price "because its INFLATION and EACH YEAR WE GET INFLATION..."
There is is always "inflation" sometimes more, sometimes less, there is never "no inflation" and there was no crazy price jumps each year, however most price raises comes from other factors that comes from other sources...
Didn't started in 2018 as here mentioned, neither did now..... has always been part of any economy.
There is free books on 101 Economics to explain and debunk this "year/price comparison always equals inflation as a explanation for everything".
How many REALLY know about Economics? Anyone here studied it? My bet is unlikely, just people willing to give them whatever they ask and defend their price gauging every year like the game devs even need people defending themselves at all.....
One example how oportunism can be spoted is when you see out of the blue, just the same product being sold way cheaper and you own the manager and you know that even with a lower price they are making a healthy profit and not selling at lose.... TLDR: We live in a age where some label/term gets spread and trends and serves as "excuse/shield" for savage capitalism to screw the consumers but at the same time they defend the pricing as being "something else fault, not their own oportunism", and fyi i'm not "anti-capitalism"....
you guys have to pay $100? its less in my region. Sucks for the USA I guess.
Also, I ain't great at math but isn't $80-$100 20%?
Wrong, [(100 - 80) / 80] × 100% = 25%
That's the version that both the OP and myself in response are referring to. As I stated it includes the expansion, four seasons and two dungeons.
Nope. Just like The Witch Queen expansion Lightfall will also include two dungeons.
Still, one dungeon will release in season 19 which is a season.
But I don't think adding one dungeon will jackup the price by $20.
