Witch Queen's "Scrub Pandering" - Why Crucible sucks again.
Now that we're about two seasons into Witch Queen, I think it's safe to say that it's been a bit of a disaster on the PVP side of things despite it otherwise being a pretty great addition. Especially with the current season and the return of old beloved weapons from past seasons.

Of course we knew that with Void and Solar 3.0, things would end up a little crazy with abilities. But none of us expected to be once again thrust into a meta where most of your interactions are decided by who has the most abilities ready. Remember how fun stasis was..? Well we've got TWO of em now.

Overshield builds are incredibly obnoxious and easy to pull off now. And considered alongside Warlock's crazy good regen and broken supers, it really just loops back to the shatter dive days. And while people aren't just freezing and insta killing you now, most of them will either sprint around a corner and throw a million nades at you or just overshield and mindlessly charge you with a shotgun melee combo forever because there's no real downside.

We took steps FORWARD with the release of the 30th Anniversary Update, and managed to fall down the stairs during the very next update even though this could have been even better. 30th was fun because you still had to play around with a mix of abilities and gunplay if you wanted to do well. (Unless you're a controller spamming scrub who just hard locks Top 20 weapons and abuses aim friction. You were bad before and you still suck now. Sorry not sorry.)

Speaking of Top 20 weapons.. None of them got fixed or even reworked. If anything, they're even worse than they were before because now someone can sit in the back with.. Let's say Vex for example.. Pop shots from a safe distance, and then run for the hills with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of crowd control trailing behind them because their bad decision doesn't matter when they can just pop an ability and run away.

The game feels a lot like Overwatch now and pulling a 3+ KD has less to do with mechanical skill and more so just whether or not you picked a god tier weapon and chose the right broken build to slam your keyboard and get free kills whenever the consequences of your action catch up with you.

The same people who spam "Git Gud" and call everyone else trash at the game are the same people who will whine and threaten to quit the game once their favorite overpowered build gets patched out of the game. Like all of the stompee and shatterdive hunters who either jumped to Titan or stopped playing entirely when these two things stopped winning every fight under the sun for them.

In a way, KD judgement is backwards because typically those running .5 to 2 are the people who are actually winning aim duels and practicing good mechanics. Meanwhile our 5+ and trials players just kind of run around mindlessly bonking people like Cavemen because they're using the best gear.

Crucible needs help. I'm genuinely starting to think Gambit is better when you can ignore the occasional blatant cheater spawncamping as you try to invade.

If they're winning, who's to say they're "bad"
A win's a win, regardless of what weapons/abilities are used

my only problem with pvp was the lack of primary gunplay and all the people who never put a special weapon down, which they kinda fixed with the recent scavenger nerfs. But when they fixed that they brought in a whole new problem - and thats the in air accuracy changes. Having to "build into that playstyle" is actually so dumb and it kills my motivation to play pvp in this game, if i get punished for jumping in a game where your jump is apart of your classes identity then id rather just go "scratch" my pvp itch somewhere else

I just don't think it's really healthy for a game when the win condition is just giving yourself as many unfair advantages as possible. At that point you're competing to see who can farm the highest number with the least amount of effort.

Doesn't really help that some people in this game's community feel the need to constantly berate and insult the skill of other players while, in the same breath, expressing their love for a weapon or loadout so poorly balanced that it practically rewards them for playing poorly.

And that's not even mentioning the fact that the return of ability spam actually makes it a lot easier for people to cheat since they can always aimlock onto someone's head, secure a kill, and then run away using abilities as a safety net. It's a pretty prominent issue that you'll mostly see in Glory playlists.

Apparently you missed the TWABs where they talk about how this is what they want.

Destiny is about Space magic first, guns second.

So you might wanna get used to it.

Go play an arena shooter like Toxikk or Quake Champions rather than a PVE oriented game with lazy PVP.

And apparently you missed the TWABs where they said they wanted to focus more on gunplay and have abilities compliment the former, not the other way around.

Hence why changes like shoulder charge no longer one-shotting happened, among other things.

Today I made someone volatile, direct hit them with a grenade, and dumped a whole SMG mag of precision hits into them and it didn't even break their shield. I've also been 1 shot through 100 resil and with omni's 50% damage reduction active. Unless you're playing a build that can do the former or the latter to counter each other then you may as well give up at this point. I also have zero doubt that at least one person I was paying attention to was aimlocking people for their 5 efficiency. Once upon a time I loved crucible. Now I loathe it and don't even want to bother with catalysts that require guardian kills.

What excuses? I don't see where they were trying to excuse anything. They didn't even refer to their own stats or performance. They pointed out what they see wrong with the current state of crucible. What you sound like is someone that fits one or more of the descriptors that he gave.
