Error code Beet, booted only during Vanguard
So I have friends who I play with and everytime we try to do a vanguard I get booted.

They keep saying it has to be my net connection and I don't know what Beet means.

Is it possible it has to do with Light Level as well? They're in the 1500s, I'm in mid 1400s

Any other ideas would be helpful because it is only Vanguards that boot me.

I'm also above minimum specs for the game.

A good place to find out what the error codes mean is this.

So I looked into the error code, but it makes no sense.

I have great internet and I have above minimum specs, and how can their be a 12 player lobby on a vanguard?

So it's doing more than just vanguards, tried going to leviathan and it booted me to orbit and kicked me from the fireteam.

Friends are saying it must be because I'm running off of wifi instead of a hard wire net connection.

What happens is that they'll be in the hyperspace animation while I'm still on the orbit screen and then my screen goes black and tells me I'm booted to orbit

What do you mean by "great internet", I suspect you don't actually understand what is going on. Having a gazillion download means nothing, someone with 5Mb down can play just fine, it's latency, the time it takes for and instruction to get there and result to get back to you. If you us WIFI you are adding to the latency, making your ping worse. You can have gigabit down and up and still have bad ping. As I already said, using WIFI has an effect, lower end routers are even worse. WIFI for web browsing, watching video etc is fine, but on thing where your latency is important, not always so fine.

They keep saying that it has to either be my pc(which I have a DELL G5 that's refurbished) or my internet connection(have Spectrum) and that it's booting me because i'm timing out on the load while they're loading into the map.

I also thought that maybe it has to do with the game being installed on a External Harddrive a WD_Black P10 4TB) but they're saying "We all have it installed on an external, but we don't have issues.

But it happens sporadically whether i'm in fireteam or not(mostly when in fireteam)

Try going to speedtest.net and picking some locations not so close and note the ping. Maybe get your friends IP from them and ping them.

Could Ram be a factor as well possibly? My laptop is great in everything but ram, it's still only got 8gb and I'll have Destiny and Discord running because of voice chat with them

Also my pings(without running Destiny) are sitting at 15 Idle, 38 Down, 67 Up.
Download speed is 319.20Mbps and Upload speed is 11.76 Mbps

How far off is the server you are pinging, the default is something close, often your ISP.
Your RAM should be fine, you need 6 and 8 is recommended. I don't know why people insist on Discord, in game voice chat works fine for me and is what I use. I tried Discord, so nice to have 30 people blathering on when you're in a 3 person fire team, NOT.

Our discord server only has like 7 people in it anyhow.

And the game is 6-8gb but Discord also takes up ram too, and Ram is programmed to throttle the high priority program to make room for whatever is causing the ram to go over max.

As for where it's pinging, it's pinging from Columbus, Ohio, one of the my friend's lives there, and myself and the other of us three live in south-eastern Stark County, Ohio which is 2hrs away.

OK, 15 is not bad for two hours away, unless it's a two hour walk (messing with you on the walk thing). Also, your ping can get bad and then good, sometimes ISPs throttle us plebs when business need the bandwidth and you are slowed leading to ping spikes.

Yes, everything that is running requires RAM, when the system is short it can use the swap file, ewww. With 8GB RAM, you might want to look at task manager to see what all is running, so many products install little apps and they can add up to use a good bit of your system's recourses.

So could it be the ram causing me to get booted if my pings are fine?
trukr Jul 4, 2022 @ 3:22pm
I really can't say, I think it could be if you have enough things using your RAM, but I really don't know that it could cause network issues. I haven't had that little RAM in years now.
DarkWolf Jul 4, 2022 @ 3:26pm
then maybe it's just a problem with this current version of the game? Because if my network is fine, then idk how i load in slower than them or get booted
