Honestly, iconography and the graphic design thereof is one of my hobbies, and Bungie's graphics design artists are fantastic, regardless of whether or not you happen to like that particular icon.

The game is literally about birth...the queens being the matriarchs. so I'm not sure if that was intentional but its more fitting than you think.
