Best scout rifle for PVE?

Which one would be recommended? Im thinking about tears of contrition?

Doom of chelchis or the new one with voltshot is quite cracked, Symmetry is massively slept on and can put in some MASSIVE work in endgame content, Touch of malice is also pretty great, but it's harder to use for hunters due to a lack of easy to use on-demand far ranged healing, Try doom of chelchis with firefly + frenzy for increased damage on yellow bars and more consistent one-shots on stronger red bars.

As far as kinetics go, The one with headstone - Perses-D is craftable and pretty decent, Hung jury is also still an extremely good scout rifle that is capable of nutty ad clear with firefly, Vision of confluence is also a choice pick for firefly aswell, It's a great perk to lift scout rifles up in the area that they suffer most being ad clear

Perses-D is NOT craftable.

Pointed Inquiry is craftable, and is quite easy to get the Pattern for.
Tears of Contrition is craftable.
Tarnished Mettle is craftable.

Staccato-46 isn't, but is pretty readily available these days.

Frankly, all of those are decent, depending on what you want or need. All of them are fairly easy to get at the moment and will give you a full selection of elements. Personally, I'd say get them all and try them all, and keep a few of your favorites of each kind around.

If you want some help on determining what good rolls are, I suggest getting DIM (which you can download from Bungie's vetted apps page, found here: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/registration/apps ). DIM has a built-in curated wishlist which will allow you to quickly identify which rolls the community prefers.

The craftable ones are useful, but require some dedication to level up and unlock the best perks.

There are a few others you can get which are a bit less available than the ones above, but you might wish to consider:

Vouchsafe can be gotten from doing quests in the Dreaming City, or from Engrams at the War Table in H.E.L.M.
Night Watch should still occasionally show up in Banshee-44's and Xur's inventories. As does Royal Chase.
I think the Pleiades Corrector still shows up occasionally as a world drop, although I'm not personally all that fond of it.

There are a few others too, depending on what game modes you play.

If you dont mind deleting your braincells in Trials,- a Vorpal Aisha's is both fun and effective.

Nightwatch is a lot of fun if you can get the explosive rounds

The new seasonal scout rifle is quite nice if you can get a good roll with dragonfly or some other explosive perk to go well with Arc 3.0

Night Watch, Aisha's Embrace, Servant Leader, Doom of Chelchis, Vouchsafe, Vision of Confluence, Staccato. Lots of good options in the scout department for PvE right now
