How does Destiny decide who hosts the game?
Does it just roll the dice and pick someone? I've had some really, really bad hosts before xD. Had one guy that had a one and a half second delay on the hit markers, but the game before was instant. To clarify. Yes, I know this could of been me, but my teammates experienced it too.

So, It's semi-dedicated, but not? I'm confused by this. Like the server hosts the game, but people still connect to the host?

Server is the host, but they delegetated some of server's work to players. That's why you see hit delays, melee trades and deaths around the corner. It takes more time to exchange data between sides. That's why we have ridiculous aim assist and bullet magnetism to compensate.

In theory if everyone had fast and stable connection as well as located more or less in the same area it would resulted in better experience than traditional servers, less delay and less maintenance cost. However we all know how it's ended
