[ Answered ] Eriana Vow catalyst don't progress through strike?
I accepted banshe 44 quest to test Eriana Vow's catalyst where:
Using Eriana's vow earn progress by completing strike playlists, gambit, prime gambit, and the crucible.
Done 3 crucibles and 3 nightfalls and 2 strikes from vanguard destinations and still stuck on 1%? I am doing precision kills...word by word I am following the quest description.
Is there a bug or am I missing something?

Yep! I did all my IB matches with it equipped to I never forgot. The only exception was when I had to get fusion rifle kills. At 1% per match, it took quite a few.

Nightfalls don't count, IIRC. And the damned thing progresses ridiculously slowly anyway, to push you toward buying the season pass for the progress multipliers. A rather scummy move on Bungie's part, that.

it goes up 0.25% per nf/strike/gambit game if ur battlepass is low level. Think its after level 60 or smthing u unlock at 4X multiplier, so it becomes 1% per/ gambit/ strike / pvp and 2% for a gambit prime game

You need to have the Eriana's Vow equipped at the end of the activity to gain progress.

Rank 22. Thankfully its not that high, but yea still on the paid season pass side.

Gambit prime matches are pretty fast and the gun is really good in there for killing envoys. You can grind it out in a weekend if you really want to.

How dare they ask money for things, everything should be free, right?

I've did microtransactions on Team Fortress 2 for a long time...still do to play paid Man versus Machine.

There's a difference between requesting money for your hard work and intentionally making the free path excruciating to push people towards micotransactions.
Question but at the ending of this season will reset the progress of this quest if I don't make in time?
Feasts Upon Stars Nov 15, 2019 @ 5:09pm
Fairly sure it won't reset.

No you do not.

I carry it, but rarely use it, and have always gotten 1% per strike.

I assume you are saying the same thing he is. He doesn't mean you have to have it in your hand, he means equipped in the slot. If anything, his wording is way better than yours, since "carrying" it could imply just in your backpack, and that is 100% not true.

Anyway, to get back on topic, you said you read the quest word for word, yet there is literally not one mention of precision kills (or kills at all). "Using Eriana's Vow, earn progress by completing Gambit, Gambit Prime, Cucible, Vex Offensive, and strike activities."

As others have said, you simply complete activities with it equipped and it goes up. Worth noting different activities give different amounts, with Gambit Prime being the highest, and the premium season pass has rewards that double/triple your progress, at which point one gambit prime match is 2%. It is quite a slow grind without the pass, but you can get there.

I don't mind taking that long. I'm going give priority to those are needed toward any Steam achievement. Of course I still need to buy the DLC.

i have ran into this question alot, my advice would be to simply not worry about the quest 😂🤣😂🤣😂 have fun with the gun, use it often if you like it, i certainly like it just the way it is and almost always have it as my secondary, paired with a kinetic hand cannon as my primary, this quest isnt broken by any means, but boy oh boy... it is a MASSIVE drag of a grind without the season pass for the boosters, as mentioned, i have been stuck at 6% for 3 days doing nothing but strikes, its taken 2 weeks to get to 6% (i made the best progress in crucible survival but i cannot stand pvp so i very very rarely play those playlists) gambit prime is also a good place to make progress, (again dont expect anything resembling "fast" progress without the booster) after 10 strikes today alone.... im still at 6%..... there are far better weapons that are far better to grind for.... though Erianas vow has a niche only a few weapons fit into, but in my opinion the catalyst isnt worth gouging your eyes out over, i carry it into every strike (i run Hero or higher) and i makes fast work of champion shields and paired with a hand cannon that has unstoppable hand cannon, you can very quickly dispatch both shield and unstoppable champions, using your primary hand cannon to deal general damage, and using Erianas Vow when you need super high damage with that death at first glance,
