A Weapon of Hope - Invasions Denied?

I can't seem to get the Invasions Denied checkbox done. I have killed invaders - with Ariannas Vow - before they kill anyone... and yet it didn't count.

Is it bugged? Or is there an additional requirement that I am missing?

You take a mechanic that needs me to rely on other people AND luck and then you won't even give me the chance, screw that! Gimme a PVE alternative, even if it takes ages to grind that.

its about luck really,ready your heavy or super,toss anything to invader the moment you saw them.

a lot of the times when i do see them, it's already too late or they already killed someone. It's complete crap, honestly.

As a lot of people have said, you need to kill the invader in under 10 seconds of him invading, and of course before he killed any of your team mates (Bungie really need to make their quest objective easier to understand)

Easy way to see this is the medal called "Not in My Watch" (I think), if you kill the invader and you get this medal pop in your screen, congratz, you did it.

As for weapons, snipers and 450 rpm machine gun (due to their range) is the way to go. Or you can use Jotunn or another certain crutch if you have it. Don't rely heavily on supers, you can still get killed easily on your super with said crutch weapon

I will admit, it is not easy if you are not into PvP, but it is still doable

Simply put it's not worth the effort, based on what I'm reading the Rose is not a very good exotic anyway so all this bs for nothing is really bad game design but to be expected from Bungie.

not Rose,its Lumina,most of the Exotic quest are BS really,but if you like to collect those cool gun,you had no choice to do it.

Let your team know what you're there for (in the text bar so they can't say they didn't know) most of them will back off trying to pop the invader and let you get to it. Some might even help you by taking them down a peg or two with a sniper, Eriana's Vow, Black Talon or other high damage weapon that won't off them in a single shot,but leave them open for an easy kill, even if it's an unexpected melee from around a blind corner. I'm going to follow this up by pointing out that, for the purposes of getting this or any other quest done, you ARE in the clear to screw your team over by sticking to your personal objective, in this case covering the middle and focusing primarily on invaders. Seriously, pop the first wave of whatever is on the field and bank, past that your only job is to score that "Not On My Watch" medal. Once that's done, if you can help your team of random blueberries pull off the win, good for you, hero. If not, no worries, the quest step doesn't require you to win, or even finish the match (you ARE a bad guy, after all) I totally agree with bringing Deathbringer or Black Talon to get it done asap.

I'm pretty sure OP has gotten it already by now (Since this was a 2019 post).
