Yeah I think the game is just trolling now. Last week showed it could be changed but they kept it as an exotic you get for an easy quest. That has to be done for a reason.

I would check back at 6pm (UK) as there was a bug last week that set the weapon to reset at the old reset time it might not have been fixed.
