parasite quest bugged ?

i cant pick up the worm after the ritual to bring him to mara sov. only thing it says place worm instead of pick up ....

i faced the same bug as well, try to do the mission with another player, the bug still exist but with 2 players it can be overcomed, basically if u r holding the worm only the other player can place it

Had to move the worm around a bit by carefully running into it a couple of times before the prompt changed. Seems to be an issue with the area its placed on.

Youre too close. try moving away from the worm you should get to pick it up

You either have to kill yourself and respawn if possible. Or you gotta bump the worm off the platform.

Basically the interaction with the ritual platform is overlapping the interaction with the worm itself. Either die to reset it or push them apart so you can interact with only the worm.
