Ornaments over Exotic armor
Hi, surely this thread exists a hundred times already but i would really like it if i could put cosmetic armor on top of exotic armor. and by that i don't just mean the 1-3 eververse skins they got.
i bought that guardian games set with glowy legs and i think glowy RGB legs would look RAD but i cannot wear them because stompees refuse to change. now i know they were nerfed but i don't care. mobility above all.

if must be there could be a Silver fee for freeing an exotic armor piece from the shackles of being limited to few choices that cost silver.
i hope someone shares this sentiment of wanting to wear decorative armor over exotic armor like over all the legendary armor. have a nice day

I agree with needing to look at a player and know what their exotics are ... but also, there are so many exotic specific ornaments already (and you can put shaders on them) that that barely works anyway.
I don't know how much it would really impact the game to just let players put their legendary ornaments on exotic armor, but I think there does need to be some kind of way to quickly see an opponent's loadout. Inspect Player is much too slow for a PvP match.

They could let us put random ornaments on exotics and then just turn it off for Trials and Competitive if it's really that important to be able to see them in pvp.

I mean... you might not be able to tell what they have but people like me easily can.
Not in any meaningful way that would have an impact on the gameplay if you couldn't. You can't see 100% of the exotics at an instance as soon as you see the player emerging.

Meaning that the ornament change prevention "balance" is pointless. Where it matters, in ranked, you can already tell what players has before the game starts. So eitherway the function serves no purpose. It's an old myth being perpetrated by players that don't know better.

You can however prove me wrong by livestreaming with webcam, joining random games and being Johnny-on-the-spot with callouts what exotics people have when they bend around the corner to smoke you. Do that and I'll say you are the exception to the rule and why they should keep the function as is.

I can often tell exotics even with ornaments from a fair distance away, so idk if it's your FOV or you don't recognize some ornaments or something; you should generally be able to ID them a fair distance away unless you're constantly trying to look at players from long range.

As I told the other player, "often" isn't always, which means it has no purpose. Where it matters, in the competetive scene, you can already tell what's what.

By the exotic perk I'm presuming? Not every exotic has an immediate way to tell it's there, which is why the visual is there to help with identification. You'd have no way to immediately tell if someone's using something like Ophidian Aspect, Peachkeepers, Knucklehead Radar, etc, if they were under some random legend ornament, and the info from the SOM cuscene can be nullified by swapping exotics during the match. If there's something else I'm missing then please correct me, as I'll admit my knowledge of stuff in places like Trials is limited.

Its funny since the guy who you're responding to hasn't been flawless once according to trialsreport. Also people making argument that seeing the exotic will make a big difference in a split second trade doesn't always make sense. As that information might not always help you in the end. Nothing is really stopping people from swapping to a super exotic right after gaining their super and back after. You could easily just check their loadout whenever to see what they're using.

consider: Cosmetics over exotics are toggled off in PVP
not in gambit though cause gambit is the crime zone
