any tips on how to make the painful slog go quicker?

Momentum control is going this week, so that would probably help.

Momentum Control is the best and fastest way to do the crucible portion of the catalyst as it increases weapon damage to help you get the kill, assists do not count. So, every last kill must be due to a final blow with the exotic bow. Momentum Control is the best way to bang out those guardian kills. 1 headshot does the trick. If you are a hunter I recommend using Oathkeepers too, to make it easier to bang out those headshots.

Ticuus is one of the few Bows that absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥ in PvP, so Momentum control is just going to make it a monster. Run it through their and you'll be fine.
