Outbreak Perfected Catalyst

As the title says i wonder how rare the Outbreak Perfected catalyst is since we can get it doing crucible gambit and strikes/nigthfall (this one is more higher to get it someone told me) but till today nothing. My guess is s big BS! If is a random drop could be utra rare os have a 0.05% chance to. If you guys got it were it was?

not thaaat rare, i got it in NF strike, I think.

I would say at least 10% chance

You don't need to have it equipped or even carried by that character. Just owning it is enough.

BTW I got more catalysts from ops as from nightfalls.

I just got my Outbreak Perfected Catalyst like an hour ago and I just got the weapon yesterday after completing the exotic cipher and then buying it. I think it took 4 regular strikes to acquire the catalyst, maybe 5.

Edit: one factor may be how many other exotics & catalysts you haven't yet unlocked. You have a higher drop chance for exotics you haven't yet acquired, as long as it is in the loot pool. I have a feeling I got the catalyst so quickly because at the time it was literally the only exotic or cipher in the playlist strike loot pool that I didn't already have.

It was my favorite content in the game, that and Whisper. Ive no idea how many friends i helped get those weapons and catalysts.

Started playing about 3 weeks ago after Bungie lately patched win.7 users and as well got it mine on nightfall strike. Was quite quickly. I'm still on 69% completition.

The gun or the catalyst? The weapon was introduced in Season 6 (early 2019) to earn it you needed to play the Zero Hour mission, and the catalyst had to be earned by a few Heroic variant runs.
Zero Hour was removed when Beyond Light launched and the weapon moved to the memorial kiosk. For that whole game year, the catalyst was unavailable, it had no drop source until Witch Queen launched, where it was added to various activity loot pools.
