Stuck at 1500 power level

What can me and my buddies do to get gear higher then 1500 seems like all are engrams are coming in as 1500 and it is very hard to get anything higher then 1505?

When you hit 1,500 power, you need to look for 'powerful' and 'pinnacle' rewards. Only those can take you up to 1,550, and only pinnacles can get you up to the hard cap of 1,560.
Prime Engrams are Powerful rewards but those are only a drip feed, you should focus on things like raids, Vow of the Disciple offers 4x +2 pinnacle rewards. There are also the playlist pinnacles, they are only '+1' pinnacles but they give a good boost to anyone still in the powerful tier.

The softcap for S16 is 1520. You shouldn't need to do anything other than play normally to get that high.

Are you saving the highest level stuff you have? The game calculates what it offers you based on the highest level you could (at least potentially) equip in that slot. You don't have to be wearing it (because sometimes it's a piece of blue junk) but always save the highest level piece of gear for any given slot.

Once you actually hit 1520 1500, you should be doing the weekly quests for "Powerful" and "Pinnacle" gear. (Open the Destination screen and look for the gold coins).

Nope, soft cap is 1500.

Is it? Could have sworn it was 1520, but okay. Not like I haven't been wrong before.

the cap is 1500, however the Legendary campaign gave you 1520 gear for completion

I'm stuck at 1558, wonder if I'll ever hit 1560?
