Report a translation problem
It was mainly used for dunking the same orb many times to save time in raids. The player would cap their upload speed to 2kb/s and dunk the orb 10 times before the first dunk had registered. It was an exploit that didn't really hurt anyone but whatever, manipulation of network traffic has explicitly been disallowed by Bungie's ToS since forever, so this is to be expected.
It was cheating and the whole argument of it wasnt hurting anyone is a strawman argument when it impacted quite a lot in completion times, achievability of titles, and even gear.
Basically people defending it will say thats okay but people who cheated in survival where they queued up with people who agreed to leave to boost ranks is ban worthy.
