Maybe because running raids with full groups of randoms that don't communicate isn't a great idea? If you want to do raids, you will have to get into a group with others and use communication. Without communication, you won't clear the raid. Simple as that.
You have to be organized for activites like that. If you wanna get in, make some friends. That is the first step in being social.
raids with pugs has worked in most other games and as far as communication goes iv noticed quite a lack of it already even in the epic nightfall strikes so i don't think it will get any better, most raids can be completed without communication... the only communication you really even get is "we don't want to do that raid" or "go away noob" you try to find a group for Prestige Spire of Stars lately? nobody wants to run that raid ...making everything matchmaking enabled wont destroy groups it'l make the game more fun because you wont have to spend 4-6 hours of your day LFGing instead you could try your luck PUGing and actually be playing the game with a fireteam even if they are randoms
If they enabled matchmaking you'd end up with teams that constantly fail. That would be even more frustrating.
In other words, lacking that matchmaking is a kindness to you.
right... you need to be organised... that's a good joke... lol <-- see i even laughed... you just need a few extra hands to beat the bosses.... and sitting around waiting on a LFG reply is boring as all hell its killing this game people want to play the game not wait around to play the game....
like honestly why the hell do you think there's soo many solo run guides for these raids on youtube... people got sick and tired of trying to LFG group members and just found a trick they could exploit
i feel ya they really should just have matchmaking on all the runs from the map and just let the players choose if they wanna queue with matching on or off
This is so far from being true it isn't even funny. Even Scourge, the easiest raid in D2, requires communication between map/orb gatherers.
Also, your raid.report says you have 0 raid clears...
Most nighftall stuff is a walk in the park anyway except for the 980 ones. Nightfall strikes are also really not that hard.
Raids have mechanics that require communication or you will literally get a complete team wipe.. Raids also have mechanics that needs to be done in the correct way, to be able to get past stuff..
Communication is key.. Or do you rather play for multiple hours because you have teamed up with players that don't know how certain things work, ending up in everyone running around like chickens.
Why does a game need to give you a helping hand on everything?
Because you need to organise your loadouts as a fireteam. You need to make sure you're running the right elements for shields and have the right champion mods, otherwise you're screwed. You'd need a 6 month course of chemo after running a 980 NF in public matchmaking.
Sundial isn't a raid. It's a menargery activity. And if sundial gives you a overview on how a raid is, than you are in for a surprise when you go into a actual raid.

The Sundial isn't even comparable to a raid. It's just a 6 player activity, like Menagerie, Vex Offensive, etc.
