How to improve survivability on a solo Warlock?
Hello!

Looking for any tips on how to make my Warlock more durable, to take a few more hits and make playing less frustrating in content at/above 1290-1320 stuff.

For some reason the game keeps rolling my armors with Strength, no Ghost mod for it, so it was pretty hard to buff my resilience armor stat: which is now 92 in Stasis element, but when I enter Legendary-Anything, my character dies to just a few hits, there are lots of places where cover is too far or does not offer a full shelter. My other stats are in the 50-60s as a result.

I know the get good meme, and working on manually avoiding as much as possible, but so far it feels pretty tiresome to play like that.

I am using the Rift Extending when shooting Exotic Armor, I added melee, and area dmg resist to it, still not nearly as helpful as I think it should be. Power Level is 1320+15, the extra points dont seem to help at all.

I guess twitching my way thru with something like 20-30s cooldowns would be possible, but with minutes on stuff like grenades, it feels "too good to use", and end up saving those until something bigger shows up.

I made it to the 2nd phase in Leg. Astral Alignment, but the 2nd part with the large open area was instant death after activating the beacon, I simply could not outrun the mob spawns, or tank enough hits to reach a cover position. I was attempting to unlock the Realmwalker Seal, but with my skills and gear, I dont think it would be possible?

Are there any large factors I am missing for defense other than the Resilience stat and Armor dmg resistance?

Thanks for reading.

Main things that I can think of besides upping resilience+recovery:
- Devour lock
- Karnstein's exotic arms
- Protective Light
- Well of radiance

Also in endgame content like GM NFs and raids, armour stats like resilience don't make a huge difference as they would in like PVP. It increases your shield capacity a little bit but with the ad density and how much damage your gonna take, its negligible.

you focus on resilience? resilience is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on pve

100 resi only gives you like 1 more shot before you die in pvp compared to 0 resil and nothing else

You actually shouldn't be focusing on reilience because the total gains don't outweigh the cost. Not anywhere close. You should be focusing on recovery. This is two-fold on Warlock because not only will this make your health come back faster, it also will make your rift come back faster. If you have it, definitely slot in protective light and some way to become charged with light. Will be tremendously helpful

Thanks all, good help as always.

Thanks siteliner, really great read. Looks like I will be keeping on eye on Protective Light, and try to re-adjust my play from Stasis to Solar.

I agree that resilience is not intuitive at all, I thought it would make a large difference in how long my shields remain up.

id like to add that armor can go up to 70 base (yes its possible i have a helmet that is 70 base/ 82 masterwork with no mods), extremely rare but possible. so just go farm for armor scrapping anything with crappy distributed stats. a good place to farm is the new dungeon.

edit:
also dont hold onto your abilities, you WILL get them back relatively quick. the timers are the base, then mods and exotics stacking from there. try nezriks(?) sin helmet, just use alot of void weapons, subclass doesnt matter but its better on void. people think the helm HAS to be used with void class but it works for all.

the helm makes it so any void kill buffs ALL cooldowns and can keep stacking, iv had the timer over 30 seconds. then the grenade well mod so grenades make wells your subclass, and font of wisdom where wells of your subclass give an intellect boost (but it actually boosts all cooldowns) for 30 seconds. this is my main build and its all about having your abilities as often as possible. this is my main load out with gnawing hunger and blighting lion (witherhoard) on top void but it works with all subclasses.

Legendary armor can go up to 68 and exotic to 71.

ok that makes more sense, i could have sworn i had some legend gloves at 69 also but ya only my exotics have gotten over 68, good catch.

Bottom tree dawnblade is great for solo content. You can jump and dive back down to the ground to recover a good chunk of health while in sticky situations. I found this method quicker than popping a rift for health regen. This can be spammed every few seconds. Also the super can last a really long time if you're dealing with large groups of enemies.

If you find yourself constantly getting killed out in the open then a sword with high guard stats + energy transfer is a good choice. Can save your life in a pinch. Excellent for damage reduction while energy transfer builds your rift back up at the same time.

Not really much that can help you outlive most attacks except a couple damage reduction mods. I guess you could also use mid tree solar for grenade consuming to get an overshield or devour for health. There's also lumina but I don't remember if you can use that on yourself. I haven't touched that weapon in a year so I don't remember how it functions.
