Other Half Sword

I've been playing the Anniversary content since it came out, and I'm still having a hard time getting the Other Half with Eager Edge. The drop rate for this sword alone has been extremely poor. I must have gone through at least 50+ Treasure keys and not one decent Other Half drop. On average I get maybe one or 2 of them with crap perks every 50 items I get. It's really frustrating because even now I'm struggling to get even the basic Half Truths with Eager Edge. I got lucky when I got it on the first try, but that was about it.

Why must Bungie make even the simplest pleasures more difficult to attain? I don't even care about the swords efficiency in combat. I just really like to have fun flying around the maps and running into walls. It's not like it's a top tier meta weapon that can make or break PvP or something, but I still would like to get a perk that make's traveling around a lot more interesting and enjoyable. Otherwise what's the point of having this content at all?

half truths is the one with eager edge, you should go for the classic combo with other half

Its because they know people will want it, so they make you put more time into the game, its always been like that

I had poor ♥♥♥♥ luck too, I had probably used up to 120 keys before I actually got a The Other Half that had eager
It had vorpal and jagged too so I was pretty happy when It finally popped up in my inventory but once you get it, you're gonna be extremely relieved and thats honestly more rewarding than actually getting the damn thing

Its for the cosmetic of it
Like if you're a avid player of destiny, you dont got much else to look forward to but "ooh pretty funny thing go brr"

Yeah they can both do the exact same thing but like...
Whoa! This ones rarer and can do it too! Thats cooler

more burst maybe, but not more total. eager edge should never be your main sword perk, because relentless/tireless + whirlwind/ofa is always better than having eager edge on any slot

more burst maybe, but not more total. eager edge should never be your main sword perk, because relentless/tireless + whirlwind/ofa is always better than having eager edge on any slot

eh, it's not like you're gonna use full sword ammo on one enemy. More burst is all that matters
also, switching weapons around cuts your ammo resulting in less total damage. Considering how much ammo whirlwind consumes, don't think that's a good idea.

That's part of it. The other reason I would want it is what Kippish said in an earlier comment with the cosmetic part. Also, why settle for one elemental sword with eager when you can have two? ;) Arc and Void baby!! 💪

I hear you. I got really lucky with my drops in that my first couple of both swords had what I was looking for[Eager Edge], so I have both with it.

because you can go fast with them
I couldnt care two dip sticks about the damage perks or anything, but I get to say "Hey Im gonna glitch fly across the map with this funny rare sword I got with a useless but interesting perk!"

This goes for one of the other new swords too, its not really useful but you can have one that has explosive perks all across the board and Its fun whipping out the "boom-boom sword" to go boom-boom

Basically swords are more silly collectibles than actual tools unless you're using a whirlwind, relentless jagged vortex frame, crownsplitter, quickfang or some exotic sword and even then I consider my god roll crownsplitter a collectible now

no. the big stupid looking giant razor cartridge one that does the whirlwind thing is really good too.
