Im not receiving the dead mans tale from zavala

I've completed the mission twice, grabbed the gun from the vine thing, and it still wont show up on Zavala. Did i make him mad? does this happen to anyone else. (season of the lost)

You need to do the Strike: The Arms Dealer.

Instead of going off to the left and outside, you need to go right, and through the door. Inside will be a bunch of turrets. Destroy those, head through the door beyond them, kill more turrets and a mini-boss. Then go to the pylon over on the right and pick up the mission log on the Pylon

THEN go see Zavala, and he'll send you to Presage.

Does your quest actually say to go to Zavala? You should have a quest "The Voice on the Other Side", which will update when you have actually completed Presage. If not, chances are you are doing something wrong. Did you wait until Presage actually completed? It can take a while after you grab the gun for it to pop with mission complete, maybe you are leaving too early would be my guess with the little information we have from you.

When you completed the mission, did you wait out the stupid long time it takes for it to actually complete the mission, or did you leave before the mission end timer started? IF you did option two, that is why. You technically wouldn't have completed the mission if that's what you're doing.

Don't leave to fast , if u Grab it just wait for the Completing sign.

What Iblis and fxoR said. Once you grabbed the weapon you have to wait for the mission to actually complete. It takes some time to get the rewards.
Zavala is not the one who gives you the weapon.

Zavala's keeping it for himself so that he can lean on the tower railings and do absolutely nothing with it
