For Pinnacle Drops, does it look at my currently equipped armor/weapons or inventory?
If I have a 1322 chest piece in my back pocket and a 1320 equipped, if I were to get a Pinnacle chestpiece would that drop as a 1323 or 1321?

A simple answer to your question would be 1323, but, powerful and pinnacle taking your overall possible highest gear into account, no matter if it is equipped, at the postmaster, in your vault or just your inventory.
Weapons for exmaple are counting accountwise, as you could give them to any class.

It looks at every piece of equipment in your account that you could theoretically equip. It can be currently equipped, in your inventory, in your vault, or even on another character (other class armor doesn't count because you couldn't equip it, but weapons do).

It is also worth noting in case you are unaware, all drops are based on your average item level, not the level of the slot it drops in. If your chest is 1322 and the rest of your equipment is still 1320, your average would still be 1320 so if another pinnacle chestpiece dropped, it would still be either 1321 or 1322 (pinnacles are either +1 or +2 depending on the source). This means you could get super unlucky and get multiple pinnacle drops that don't raise your power at all, which can certainly cause frustration. There isn't really anything you can do about that but keep getting more pinnacles, rolling the dice until you get what you want.

Alright, and the sources of +2 Pinnacles are from Raids? I know +1 is basically every Ritual activity under the sun including Trials of Osiris but +2's I've never really seen.

Playlist activities aka Strike/Gambit/crucible and Hawthorne are +1, everything else should be +2
