Because it was a season pass weapon, meaning it originally had the catalyst boosters to get the 4x progress when it was released

It's not as bad as Eriana's Vow, as Symmetry should still have some way to boost it these days (I think it's Nightfalls?).

doing hero nightfalls doesnt seem to boost it, maybe legend+.

They should add all catalyst quests to the current season catalyst booster instead of it only affecting the current seasons one. It's a bit sad that you get punished with a longer grind if you didn't play.

Well, it took me less than a month to finish it. Just be warned, I don't remember which weapon catalyst quest but nightfalls activities doesn't count.
