What is a good legendary elemental auto rifle?
I have Sweet Business and Actium War Rig equipped and I like them very much. I just came back with the witch queen so I have no idea what the meta is but I do not want to hold my team back too much. So what elemental and heavy weapons would be good to equip with these exotics? I was thinking an elemental auto rifle so it would also benefit from the Actium War Rig but all sugestions are appreciated.

Weapon is less important than the build you are using. If you focus on weapon alone than you will be realy gimping your team. Check you tube for charged with light, or well build and if you played older content than maybe you have mods for warmind cells. You can practicly insert any weapon to charged with light and well build thou for warmind you need specific weapon types. Auto rifle alone without proper build drops your usefulness in team by a lot. Also builds are super fun to use.

im really enjoying the sweet sorrow AR from the new season and you can craft it once you get enough frames for it.
gnawing hunger is a void world loot drop with some very good rolls.

The last expansion I played was forsaken but I didn't even finish the campaign. The last time I really put time into this game was year one. So I have no idea what you mean by "build" I shall follow your advice and look for videos though.

The new Sweet Sorrow is a great auto rifle if you like fast fire rates like gnawing hunger.
While the build is important, I personally keep a Gnawing Hunger (Void auto) that has auto-loading holster on hand for when I feel I need the fire rate on a secondary.

But if say you're running a Hunter with the Lucky Pants exotic, I suggest you have a hand cannon in whichever slot you aren't running a hand cannon in since those pants have perks specifically for hand cannons (fast weapon swap and slow auto loading).

Same deal with Peacekeepers Titans (fast SMG switching and auto loading holster. not sure if it's slow auto loading like lucky pants or fast like the weapon perk though), have an SMG in the slot of whatever isn't already an SMG since it has perks specific to SMGs.

edit: no need to run SMG or Hand Cannon in both slots unless you want to. but for the most part, use whatever weapon feels most comfortable to your play style. like hand cannons, but don't like them to fire too fast? run a slower rate with higher impact.

in terms of average hand cannon impact to fire rate it's aggressive (120 rpm, 92 impact as baseline) > Adaptive (140 rpm, 84 impact as baseline) > precision (180 rpm, 78 impact as baseline)

edit 2:
also keep in mind weapon synergies. examples being Sturm and Drang. an exotic and Legendary combo that have perks that state the name of the other and kills with one reloads the other, and Drang kills overfill Strum to deal more damage until you reach normal magazine capacity. or less importantly is Mida Minitool and Multitool (equipping both buffs your movement speed further than normal agile frame weapons)

Mostly you gave him bad choices because of the changes to weapons in wq pve even in pvp they are ok but realy outdated. I would take sunshot, ace of spades, malfeasance or even graviton lance because of huge buff to explosion perks. They all are from forsaken era and will be great for him. Pair it with good build and you ovn in pve + rocket launcher and you are golden.
