Shadowkeep will probably become free for a short window in 2023, before being illegally taken away vaulted. Beyond Light, 2024, and The Witch Queen 2025, assuming they continue with the same scheme.

Multiple EULAs have been invalidated in the past due to being malicious and unreasonable. It however requires lawsuits that no one can afford. Worst that would happen is a class action lawsuit that would end up with everyone getting $5 for Bungie being shady beyond reason.

Bungie gave use year one content free for over a year. They make a product that I enjoy, so I spend my money to play it. This isn't a socialist thing, but if you don't think the content is worth it or don't like the DCV, that's fine, keep your money for something you feel is worthy.

"Steal" implies you owned something in the first place; since digital distribution became a thing, we don't OWN the games but instead buy a license to play them while the game's still up.
