MSI After Burner is Crashing Destiny 2 on Title Screen After Update most likely triggering Battle Eye.
Just to help out people so they are not stuck tommrw not being able to play.

Looks like BattleEye is in full effect. I truly hope I don't login tomorrow and be banned.

To fix it go to RivaTunerStatistics > Click Add > Go to your Destiny Directory > Add Destiny2.exe & Destiny2Launcher.exe

Looks like there have been changes to Battle Eye. MSI After Burner is now triggering crash on Title Screen. Some other programs that had no issues might cause issues now.

FingersCrossed This didn't mark my account or someshit.

Bungie.Net Post about it:

P.S Bot super aggressive on this subreddit had to avoid it somehow. 5th time is the charm.

Edit:
Looks like this will be passed to Bungie by a Bungie.Net Modarator/Mentor

Xaren:

I can't comment on this directly as it's outside of my expertise. However, I did pass this onto Bungie for investigation. Thanks for your report!

MSI afterburning doesn't even load up when i play teh game, its not being detected. I just wanted to see my framerate, but it has that option in the menu, so all good with me.

My afterburner works just fine. Do you have Rivatuner hooked into the game? That will do it. Make sure you have the anti-cheat box checked so it can hide. Or just don't use Rivatuner.

The issue is that Rivatuner hooks into the executable. Anti-cheats look for that because that's what cheating programs do. Doesn't matter what program it is. They are not going to exclude rivatuner, because you can design a cheater program to look like rivaturner, or whatever exclusion the anti cheat has, and get away with it.

Programming is fun isnt it?

You SHOULD be able to appeal any action taken against your account, because I assume that battle eye makes a log of the violation. So if you do get banned, don't be a child about it.

Even if it gets players a ban id imagine this will be a pretty wide spread enough issue that it will be included in some day 1 patches.
I've been dealing with crashing aswell. Something interesting is that it only happens after tabbing-in to the game, in case it might be something else.

MSI ab works just fine, but not OSD - aka RTSS aka on screen display. It won't work and never will becuase of bungie injection protection.

If you want FPS display then enable ingame fps monitoring.

I use MSI AB only to monitor other esenciall stuff, and it runs just fine in the background
on my oldies Logitech G19 lcd display.

I have the same issue with the crashing. Hopefully it gets fixed. :steamsad:

This worked, but for those who might be confused, you access RTSS from the desktop tray (bottom right of taskbar). Make sure the on screen tracking is set to none for both destiny2.exe and destiny2launcher.exe.

Thanks for the post, this would have killed me today. Hopefully I haven't been flagged already.

The RTSS OSD is actually working for me after the WQ release.

yes it has done that is several games I have played..
REDMVGE Feb 23, 2022 @ 2:37am
yeah RTSS is the devil in this one, not Afterburner

essentially, until Bungie figures out the kinks (if they can), disable as many 3rd party programs as possible to see if it fixes your crashing

Razer cortex also makes the game crash for some odd reason.

Which is funny since something like cortex is supposed to boost performance, taking up less space from your cpu/gpu.
advice works thanks!
