It is daily, but we're talking about the ghost mods that guarantee a certain stat is good on dropped armour.
Banshee-44 sells four daily bounties that each grant two Mod Components as a reward. These bounties are rather easy to complete, tasking you with defeating enemies with certain weapons. Since daily bounties are bound to your character, you can complete up to 12 of these bounties every day if you have three characters, amounting to 24 Mod Components you can earn daily. This is by far the best way of obtaining Mod Components if you can't use the next method.
Any deprecated mods found in your Inventory screen ( if you have played the early season of the game) can be dismantled for a Mod Component each. These mods include Transcendent Blessings, retired Leviathan raid mods, Paragon armor mods, Hive raid mods, Fallen raid mods, and spare Sweaty Confetti mods. Veteran players that never dismantled these can do so for a large sum of Mod Components.
