Ammo finder mods
Whats the point?
Ammo finder mods for specific weapons that fire primary ammo, pointless! I've never socketed one of these mods and minimum 1 kill in 3 I'm producing primary no matter what weapon I'm firing or swinging and I'm guessing its the same for everyone else. It's damned near impossible to run out primary ammo so yeah, pointless!
Ammo finder mods for specific weapons that fire special ammo, pointless! If I've got a special firing weapon equipped I'll produce special ammo, switch to a different weapon I'll produce at the same rate and I've never used a mod. Oh sure I can, and do, run out of ammo but that's because the reserves are pathetic, finder mod can't change that. Pointless!
Ammo finder mods for specific weapons that fire heavy ammo, you thought I was going to say pointless didn't you? Well no these things do have a point, sort of. Heavy ammo as we all know can be a little harder to come by and these mods do actually work. The point of them however is to be a complete and total pain in the arse and assist in the possibility of getting us killed. I quite like being able to switch heavies back and forth to suit encounters in the strike/lost sector/battleground/whatever I'm in, makes it more fun. But I don't because in the heat of battle there isn't time to be switching out an ammo finder mod and getting dead or nearly dead while trying is very much not fun. So actually I'm going to have to rethink my take on heavy ammo finders for specific weapons and say whilst they work and therefore are useful they are, in fact, pointless!

What content are you playing? I find that ammo finder mods are fairly useful in nightfalls, dungeons and raids to be honest. Especially when paired with scavenger mods.

What we need is loot enhancement drop rate mods. 7x same exact same exotic drop in a row from a playlist reset, is too much. Ammo mods isnt an interesting topic. Increase your nade/punch stat and nuke everything.

Using good primaries (risk runner) and shredding alot of ads will give you a insane amount of ammo boxes, atleast special ones.
after a wave of killing ads in the moon monster closet farm event there is usually 5-10 boxes of special ammo finder boxes.

Look to your ghost for extra loot.

You have to be bloody kidding me if u you think i am not well aware of mods for ghost. They do nothing to improve the bad loot drop situation.

Switching heavies mid-activity is pointless simply because doing so will eat around half of whatever reserves you still had and force you to wait around for more to appear.

What is the point of this? If you don't feel the need to use them, don't, but they are quite nice when you want to use a specific weapon a lot. Like, even you said you run out of special ammo, but somehow don't think getting more special ammo drops is useful to fix that problem? You don't really make any sense.
Special and Heavy Ammo mods are great for end game content, especially nightfalls or certain raid encounters( Double Special and Anarchy Tankis for example, or having enough special and heavy for Sanctified Mind).

As for Primary, there is a Strike/Nightfall Modifier called Famine which severely reduced ammo drop rates. Not sure if it is still something that can happen on new content, but it being able to have that better chance at finding ammo made a huge difference.

And given how you talk about how you like to switch heavy weapons in the middle of content, it sounds like you don't play the content where ammo finder and scavenger mods actually matter most.
