So is destiny 2 worth it without the DLC's?
I have logged about 15 hrs in-game after struggling a whole day just to fix the code marmot error, i really like the base mechanics of the game. It gives me Halo x Warframe vibes, What exactly is there to do in the free version? is it basically just a demo of the game allowing access to the start of the campaign and vangaurd? Im asking cause i was checking up on the specials and the deluxe edition is 50% off, seeing as how tomorrow is a holiday i wont get paid until Tuesday after the deal expires, so for now im stuck woth the basics and im just hoping im missing something?

The free version is pretty much a demo. So not much it really available.

The FTP version of the game allows access to the basic bounties (at every destination as far as I know), and allows access to the basic playlists (Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit). You can level up your Light Level to maximum each Season. You get access to the top line of the Seasonal Rewards track.

FTP players also get access to the first (and only the first) story mission each Season, since that's the mission that provides the Seasonal Artifact.

Most of the story based content however is behind paywalls (of either the Seasonal or Expansion variety). Additionally, each Season in Beyond Light (Y4) has added a storyline and an activity (at least one).

F2P version is essentially a trial. If you want access to the actually meaningful content you're gonna have to spend some money.

Calling the free version of Destiny 2 a demo is an insult to demos!

This game stopped being worth it a long time ago.

It gives you access to the entirety of the core game and lets you try activities from every level of difficulty and gives you access to a plethora of drops that can get you viable at whatever accessible content you want to play up to and including VoG and PvP, letting people try out everything the game actually offers to decide if they like it enough to play.

It's actually one of the more open and extensive demos out there.
To be fair, they have removed damn near all core fame content, so that point hardly stands.

the whole game is mostly about the grinding and without dlc there are too many paywalls and pretty much nth to do,unless u only got 4 hours to play per week or else i am sure u will get bored before u reach 200 hours, the graphics and soundtrack should keep u staying for a bit longer tho

Correct. Before the vaulting it was a worthy f2p game by itself.

Is the F2P worth it? Yes, also, if you don't like the free to play part, they will give you a 100% refund on your nothing..

Whether it's it's worthwhile to play is subjective, we can't tell you what you will enjoy. Some people are OK with the F2P, they do the things allowed within that content. All it takes is playing the game for you to decide for yourself if you want to keep playing.

The Xbox Game Pass version includes all DLC. if you want to try before you buy.

The problem with New Light is that it gives you basically no actual idea of what the game is about.

If you're on the fence, the Forsaken campaign should become free to play on December 7th. This could give you an idea to a degree.

Before beyond light: Yes, 3 free campaigns, multiple raids, secret missions and exotics.
After beyond light: No, No free campaign(I'm not counting the piss poor excuse that is new light.) Only base game exotics with no secret missions, limited access to crucible, and 1 raid that you have to grind hours in order to play.

OP, just to be fair, it's a huge "demo", even also with a dungeon and a raid. Don't worry about the sale, there will be more of it, as always at the end of the year. Also the campaign of the Forsaken-DLC will be free to play (for a limited time) at the beginning at December.

But do yourself a favour and make yourself familiar with the Destiny Content Vault, before you buy anything.
