Be aware: Most of the story focused content is behind either Expansion or Seasonal paywalls.
Yes, some older content have been vaulted, because it's no longer compatible with the newer game engine. If/When that content has also been refurbished, it may return.
Don't listen to the rumors, actually read what Bungie's plans are:
https://www.bungie.net/en/Guide/dcv
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/50752
To be abundantly clear, the only announcement regarding content vaulting that is occurring is the announcement that Nakos provided early that the Forsaken campaign and the Tangled Shore destination is being vaulted. There has been no official announcement of any additional content being vaulted at this time.
1. Do New Light (free).
2. Do Season Of The Lost (free).
3. Do Strikes, Nightfalls, PvP (free ones).
4. Do Forsaken (free in December).
5. Buy Beyond Light if still interested.
Just a warning if you are brand new to Destiny 2 it will be super confusing without the original first campaign (Red War).
many good mods are locked behind paywalls so you will never be able to do the end content in the game without paying 70bucks to get old season pass mods LOL
Quote. TBH I enjoyed the lore & level design of all the DLCs even if the quests are terribly layered and you constantly think if the Quest Devs were totally drunk during the development. If you are more on the PVP side probably follow the 5 step above, if you generally enjoy the lore/PVE the price point of the legendary edition can be worth a thought (if you are willing to google constantly on how to go further in the "quest mess" that you'll encounter).
for new players? hehehe this game is a fuc... disaster i played +700h and i dont no anything
