Obtaining high-stat armor with Dawn Armor Mod slots

Since there is no new raid or other activity this season (yet) to farm for high-stat armor, what is the best way to acquire these armor pieces? I really want to test the new Dawn Armor Mod system, but the only 60+ rolls for the seasonal armor set I see are in the season pass. Can high-stat rolls be obtained from the sundial? Because highest I got was 55 until now.

I've mainly been getting 48s from the season pass. No idea how / if we're supposed to be able to get decent versions of the new armour yet.

That kind of sucks. I can find very few threads discussing this overall, since people seem to be fed up with grinding new armor each season just because of one slot. I myself dont really mind, but I would very much like to get high rolls on the new armor, which does not seem possible right now.

yeah so far i got all 62. 64 and 66 armor from the seasonpass dunno from what lvl at the seasonpass but i am at seasonlvl 62 right now. so i think 40+ season lvl armor

That's the only source for high-stat armor I have seen until now as well. Also, good on you for being lvl 62 already :)

Eater of worlds, don't know if it was a checkpoint drop, chest drop or legendary drop.

Once harder difficulties for the sundial come out in January, it will probably reward higher stat gear. Until then the iron banner is the only guaranteed way to get high stat gear with dawning mod slot. There will be a new quest line when iron banner comes back to unlock the new armor

Ah true, I forgot about higher difficulties coming. Probably best to wait and use the old armor for now, and later farm the new one. Might not be the most clever thing Bungie have ever done, as I see no benefit from it, but at least we will be able to get the good rolls later on or in Iron Banner.

Well, this isn't accurate at all.
People have screenshotted unmodded armor with stats as high as 70.

As for the activities thing, most of my old armor were not raid armor or pinnacle armor, it was high stated drops. I remember getting one from a strike that was 61 base.

I'd like to know where you got your information.

the season pass, at least the paid version comes with 60+ rolls from level 37 onwards. Im rocking them atm and I don't really see a need to min max anymore. Solid stat rolls on them for my titan.
