Bugged Polaris Lance Catalyst quest

Basically the 50 perfect fifth kills requirement seems bugged. Tested this myself, and when nearby enemies blew up and died after I shot another enemy with a perfect fifth shot, it did not give progression towards the quest. Has anyone else experienced this bug?

Yes, I've been experiencing this exact problem with Polaris's catalyst. A similar problem seems to be happening with Graviton Lance as well.

Yes, that or Im doing somthing wrong...

I get four lights, headshot the fith, it all goes bang but nothing changes on the quest.

The enimies have to die from the burn and not the explosion for it to couldn’t progress.

If this is true, there are some major problems with the quest description.

No problem. Took me about 45 min to an hour to complete. Before this I was like you. Something seems off on the catalyst.

I did that by capping the heads off of vex. It's not their crit spot, ergo they don't die from losing their nugget, but the burn.

Does not matter. As I said, even if nearby enemies die from the explosion or burn, still no progression.

The enemies die from not the headshots or the perfect shot, it is the flame and solar burn afterwards that kills them. You can get used to it, but it does take a bit of time to get it right. I achieved this only a few weeks ago.

So basically they have to be set on fire and die from the burn, not even from the explosion, a rediculous requirement. Welp, I still say that its a bug because the description says 50 perfect fifth kills, which is false. Its either that or the people at Bungie are lazy or stupid.

Enemies must die from the burn dmg from the perfect fifth shot.

go to mercury lost sector. Once your perfect fifth is ready to shoot, hit a goblin in the head (not the crit spot). It will die from the burn dmg. Rinse and repeat until completed

Hi, here's my trick probably I've read somewhere on the web can't remember the source but go to Mars between Dynamic Approach - Alton Dynamo and calibrate all four shots on hive guards and the fifth shot use it on the witch nearby the group on Dynamo Approach. You going spend no more than an hour doing that but the progress will go forward.

Not sure if the catalyst is broken within this actual season but I've finished Wardcliif coil catalyst couple minutes ago totally fine.

Try my advise and see how it goes and good luck.
