'Medal case' is not an actual quest so that is how got me confused about it;

So after beating 500 of laurel on medal case, 5/5 bronze, 1/5 silver, 1/5 gold. I collect another card to get platinum medal on nightfalls. And then medal case gets resetted.
What am I doing of wrong?

Nothing? You earn medals and they go in the case, then you deposit them (for rewards and for your team) to make room for more.

It isn't a quest that can be 'completed', it will just get full and do nothing. You're supposed to deposit them so you don't end up earning one while you don't have room for it.

When I finished the gold medal card on strikes and collected platinum card for nightfall my progress erased to 0 on everything. Something is broken. I don't recall being this complicated last year.
Just finished platinum card and I don't want get medal case quest get resetted again. How do I keep getting gold, silver and platinum if everytime I grab another card my progress simply gets erased.

I can see why people are getting mislead. It looks like a typical 'collect X of Y' quest.
But it is not. It's just a wallet for your medals. It has a capacity and can be filled without anything special happening.

But if they are vanishing without actually being deposited in the podium, then that isn't how it's supposed to work.

I think I have depositted couple times. So to complete the quest medals are not supposed to be deposited? And that will not reset when picking another contender card?
As long I'm staying away, I can collect contender cards to complete this medal case quest and then after all objects get complete I go to podium. Damn the description on should have been way more clear about all of this.

You CAN'T 'complete' the medal case quest!
Its only purpose is to hold your medals when you earn them.
Filling it will do nothing. Keep earning medals and keep depositing them, to support your team and earn rewards. No they won't disappear just from buying contender cards, but just to repeat, there is no need to or purpose in filling the case completely.

Ohh...so you are telling me to not get another card. Those cards are a serious trap! Because what is the point. They should appear locked when retrieving one contender card. Otherwise silly people as I did would continue to get our medal case resetted everytime we picked diferent contender cards.

But still I don't know how are we supposed to get platinum or gold if we can't pick diferent contender cards if they keep erasing our progress in the medal case quest.

Unless totally forgot about Guardian games triumph objectives* but still the contender cards are really bugging me bad. Just clear things up once more. I've completed platinum contender card and complete medal case quest I can no longer grab another contender card or my progress will continue to be erased no unknown reasons?

Just happened again...erased all of my medals. I am so confused so Medal case is not an actual fracking stupid quest is just a form tracking on how many medals we have got it?

It's a way to track how many laurels and medals you have _on_ you.

It isn't a quest, but more like an object like the lure from Wrathborn Hunt, or the hammer from battlegrounds.

It shows the maximum amount of laurels and medals you can have on you. When you reach the max, you can't get more.

Laurels are used to buy contender cards and additional bounties. Those laurels will then be removed from your medal case.

Medals are used to submit at the podium. When you interact with the podium _all_ the medals you have will be removed and added to the podium to be counted as points to the total for your class.
