Many game developers can only dream to make it on that list one day. To be there, in those positions, day after day, week after week, is quite a bit above par, I would say.
Neither is YOUR preference.
I don't think the game is hated by nearly as many people as you think.
I enjoy the game, I come to this forum a bit.
You apparently don't enjoy the game, and you too are in this forum, why?
Also, it uses an FTP model that locks away a lot of content unless you're willing to pay, and that rankles for some people. And finally, because they've removed some older content in order to make room for newer, better coded content, and some people have trouble grasping (or accepting) the Game-as-a-Service model.
I dropped the game/genre, miss it sometimes, but definitely won't come back anytime soon if at all.
one of the most pretentious (and also just straight up incorrect) things I've read on here in a good while. thanks for the laugh at least.
Games as a service first struck me as a rip off too, but after years of paying monthly subs for MMORPG's, I am actually seeing more value in the model Bungee is going after than I do the month sub fee of 15$ PLUS still needing to buy DLC like most any mmorpg such as wow or the like.
If I can have an ever changing story, and new things on the horizon to keep me motivated, I'll gladly keep buying dlc once or twice a year at 30$ a pop (keep in mind I buy 2x each because my kid and I play together). That is far less than 15$ a month x12 = 180$ a year just for subscription, let alone the cost per DLC. (WoW Shadowlands is currently 39.00 JUST FOR THE DLC ALONE!!!!!)
