Seasonal Activities are Repetitive and Boring
The last season I played before Chosen was Undying. Undying was very repetitive, doing the same objectives and fighting the same boss (except the Undying Mind near the end) over and over again. I'm getting the same feeling doing that with Chosen and Splicer. Splicer isn't as bad on account of you fighting one of two factions at random, but the loop remains the same and starts to feel like a chore. I'm a very long-time Path of Exile player, but some of the activities this game presents are excruciatingly repetitive. Anyone who plays PoE might argue that the game is peak grind and repetition, but it's also so bloated with old league content that no encounter is ever the same.

What I would like to see is more random events happening in seasonal activities. Take Splicer for example. Halfway through a mote stage, you get invaded by the boss who you then have to defeat before you're allowed to bank motes again. Instead of always fighting minibosses after depositing sufficient motes, Mithrax sends a Servitor to scan data nodes around the battlefield which you must protect. Besides the gate opening for you to collect data spikes, you might have a brief chance to hack a conflux to confuse a few enemies into fighting each other. You could even add some bad events to shake up the encounter, such as Vex-simulated storms hindering your view, Vex security screens and lasers can try and kill you in the arena, or conduits which create radial debuffs that periodically spawn and can be temporarily disabled. These can happen between rounds.

More importantly, a more dynamic change of scenery would be better than changing the Override location every week. It helps to randomize the appearance of the arena, plus the constant shift of terrain and obstacles will have different advantages and disadvantages to combat. Take this week's Override location. Imagine in one mission, it starts inside the ruined dome in the Evantide Ruins region, but in the next, you're fighting in the first room of the Braytech Exoscience facility. This could also apply to Battlegrounds, make an algorithm that chooses Arenas A, B, and sometimes C located randomly all across the planet and sometimes ending within a lost sector, and have paths connecting to each of them. In the EDZ for example, the first arena could be situated in The Outskirts where you destroy the fuel arrays. In the second, you go to Trostland to "smash through their defenses". Finally, you fight your way through the Salt Mines to fight the boss. It just happens randomly, there are no set locations outside of story-based ones.

Bungie is working on Matter. Destiny 2 has less priority, that's evident. "Repetitive and Boring", that's the outcome. Since Shadowkeep, and already before, the game is in utilization.

They got very effective marketing, but that doesn't do justice to reality.

Today it's just to "squeeze" as much as possible out of existing content. They got a huge "toolbox", with the range of the original Destiny to Destiny 2, they need nothing new - more important, innovative, if they can produce endless existing variations.
If a game bores you, you are welcome to play other modes or even other games.

That's not an argument. Games don't maintain popularity by stagnating. Otherwise, MMOs like WoW or Runescape would've died years ago.

It's only been 7 days since the last post, I wouldn't count that as necro.

A month or two later? Yeah, you'd have a point.
Of course theya re boring, this game has been using reconstituted D1 content ever since release.
