What is the purpose of Ikora Rey ?

From destiny wiki i read an article about how she used to be vendor for vanguard research engram and gave different type of bounty. But now what ? I do not have any dlc and only bought season pass so i perhaps i missed certain features. Is she only serve as a npc for storyline ? So many things lacking explanation in this game. From collection tab i saw an armor set that supposedly provided by her but i do not know how to get it.(Noble constant armor if my memory serves)

It's an odd question. What is the point of any of the characters? To be used to tell a story. It is not exactly the character's fault if they are not used much.

I look at the game and wonder how many good, interesting characters it has produced and I am not sure I can come up with many.

Cayde-6. A lot of this is the performance of Nathan Fillion and just the bravado and personality the writers gave him. It's like they took their entire personality quota for the game and gave it to him. Probably too much. In that sense, who ELSE could they have killed in Forsaken to provoke the response they wanted?

I liked the original voice actress for Ana Bray. I am always interested in other people's reaction and it seems like a lot of people did not like the original performance? The new actress is not bad, but she comes off as a bit bland to me. It is subtle and something I find hard to describe.

Uldren/Crow. He is interesting if nothing else. I like the redemption arc they are giving him.

I like Lance Reddick. He infuses so many of the characters he plays with personality- even when it might be lacking in the writing.

That is kind of interesting. I went for a critique on characters and ended up just mentioning which voice actors I liked. Is it the voice actors overcoming the material? Or is it the writing being better for these characters?

I think that thread hit ~60 pages.

honestly i never found her useful, Cayde-6 was way more fun to hang out with, and Zavala could get hit by a meteor and i wouldn't have cried.
